Tim Sherwood speaking without thinking, seems to be his default position.

If there's no chance of an appeal how can it be harsh, it could've easily damaged Sadiki's eye socket or caused concussion. Anyone can time a tackle badly or slide on a rain soaked surface, but this was deliberate and totally off the ball ...

... there's absolutely no excuse.

“The referee, Tim Robinson, loses all control of the football match in my opinion,” Sherwood said. “He’s booked 11 players and he’s sent off Lewis Cook.”

"On the red card, Sherwood said the decision was “very harsh,” but Bournemouth would be unlikely to win an appeal over the incident."

How could that red card be very harsh? Cook knew exactly what he was doing - he looked at Sadiki before he raised his elbow!

If he’s not fined by the club it confirms what I think about them and their manager …

… Bournemouth were still in with the chance of a point, he let everyone down.

It would’ve been a red card in the first minute let alone the last, harsh ffs!

Update on Thomas and his day as a mascot v Bournemouth. He was really looking forward to to being a mascot and had a great day despite the weather, he had the pleasure of accompanying our Captain Granit Xhaka at the very front, if you look at the SAFC 90 minute highlights the opening shots show the team in the tunnel and Thomas though excited is looking quite nervous before breaking out in to a wide smile as they entered in to the SOL cauldron. Despite being soaked through he had a day that he will treasure for ever.

Brilliant day for the lad himself and all his family.

No pressure but his attendance at games is now mandatory, particularly the one on 14th December.....

Sherwood is a cockney cockwomble. He’s a dreadful pundit, worse than Sutton. It was a malicious and deliberate elbow.
Christ knows how he ever made manager. No surprise that didn’t last.
Their ill discipline will cost them a lot of points - just listen to their own fans. That Smith bloke should have been red carded for appalling acting, never mind simulation. The big nipple needs to give his head a shake as well.

I have been going to matches since 1962 Thomas since he was 3 Charlotte since she was 5 and last but not least Alexander who has just started this season when he was 5 so we have 4 season tickets and all of us are Sunderland through and through and we will all be there on the 14th - don’t worry.

He's Southern, so he needs to defend the all Southern based football clubs. Plus, he's a toss pot. I remember the tale where legend has it that Blackburn Rovers turned down the chance to sign a young Zidane, apparently the chairman said "we don't need him, we've got Sherwood", or so it goes. But I can imagine something like that stuck with Sherwood and enhanced his arrogance. And yes, Cook sized up and hoyed an elbow up.

Their manager was a right muppet the way he went in about every little decision that didn’t go their way, there were decisions that were no where near 50/50 and clearly was foul or throw in our way and he jumped about with his arms up whinging about it.

As time wore on and especially after Brobbey put us in front this got worse and started to rub off on their players who lost control of themselves as they screamed about every injustice as they were cheated out of a result! Which culminated in the elbow of a spoilt brat being stuck in Sadikis face!

Still not sure how Mukiele gets booked for getting push ower either, maybe he shouldn't have ran up but he stopped himself didn't go head to head or owt! Imo their player should have been booked for the foul before and and pushing him over!

On the street that would either result in an assault charge from the police ...

... or a headbutt on the bridge of your nose if there were no cctv.
