Tim Sherwood speaking without thinking, seems to be his default position.
If there's no chance of an appeal how can it be harsh, it could've easily damaged Sadiki's eye socket or caused concussion. Anyone can time a tackle badly or slide on a rain soaked surface, but this was deliberate and totally off the ball ...
... there's absolutely no excuse.
“The referee, Tim Robinson, loses all control of the football match in my opinion,” Sherwood said. “He’s booked 11 players and he’s sent off Lewis Cook.”
"On the red card, Sherwood said the decision was “very harsh,” but Bournemouth would be unlikely to win an appeal over the incident."

How could that red card be very harsh? Cook knew exactly what he was doing - he looked at Sadiki before he raised his elbow!
