The fans fully deserved that result, after a dreadful season so far. As stated by another contributor, much more effort and endeavour. So why has it taken so long to show itself with the players?
It's a good question, but in addition to the
effort and endeavour, there was much more structure and tactics that proved advantageous throughout. Clement is putting his stamp on the team and the players are responding, but this isn't a rigid system, it's adjusted and fine tuned to the opposition for each game. The effort and endeavour come in because the players are buying into Clement's approach and tactics. That's the way it looks to me anyway.

He was outstanding but the BBC report had McConville as MotM:

Another solid performance from him today as well. I worried when he was moved RB, but he did well still.
Has PC confirmed the nature of Stacey’s substitution? Looked like he took an elbow to the head from Chair, may mean another 2 week concussion protocol for him - his 3rd time out for the same thing this season alone

It's simple. They are now being properly coached. If you don't know what you're supposed to be doing, how do you do it with "effort and endeavour"? What would constitute doing it badly or well?

He played RB under Wiltshire my memory tells me.
When he signed for us he commented that one of his motivations was getting game time in his specialist position, i.e. at CB. Or, to put it another way, "I'm fed up with being played out of position at RB". At Brighton he clocked up many more minutes at RB than he did at CB (where the Seagulls were well-provided for).

From the Official Site:

"In the post match press conference yesterday, following the team's 3-1 win at hopme at Carrow Road against QPR, head coach Philippe Clement presented a positive update on both Jack Stacey's injury, and that of other players who have been absent recently. We have to wait and see with Jack, whether it was a contact or not, or how bad it is. Let's hope, touch wood, for good news. We lost already Mirko and we don't lose another player. I'm always from the half full glass, you know. I will wait the next few days for what the assessment will be.

Jovon was planned to start. He became sick, at the (team) meeting he got fever, so he had to go out of the squad,” said Clement, who hinted after the win some of the longer term absentees might be in position to re-join training ahead of the trip to Watford."
