Someone who's only income is the basic state pension (which I assume is the ~£600 per month figure you referred to) will receive £200 or £300 depending on their age.

Rewind to the start of this exchange. You said a pensioner with a monthly income of not much more than£600 per month was paying for the lifting of the benefit cap. I asked why that is, and you said 'Maybe where the £300 went that got taken off their heating allowance?'.

It's demonstrably true that a pensioner living on the basic state pension will receive either £200 or £300 this year in WFA depending on their age.
