I find it frustrating because it seems like you're just not allowed to win sometimes. Greaves is brilliant in the air and often attacking players won't even try to compete if they aren't strong in the air. Gelhardt got his approach perfect and did so well to match Greaves in the air, but then gets a foul and a yellow card basically for trying where a lot of players wouldn't have.
Similar with the Joseph one where he beat Greaves against all odds, with Greaves obviously the aggressor in making it physical and the ref gives a defensive free kick when Joseph had done so well to get around him the long way and surviving the contact. Again it just seems like the attacker isn't allowed to win. And then there's the ones in the corners where defenders can just fall on the ball and get an almost guaranteed free kick regardless of what the attacker actually does. Football's supposed to be a beautiful game but in those situations the outcome is basically predetermined and we all just have to play along pretending it's a fair contest.
It doesn’t help their bitterness when lewie has such a good game
One less scapegoat
too many people creaming themselves about Greaves - he most certainly isn't brilliant in the air - in fact he's proved he isn't Premier League standard after many faltering performances last season - he's not even been first choice for Ipswich in the Championship with many fans on his back - last night he didn't stand out except for acting like a fanny on a couple of occasions, reverting to his trade mark shirt pulling in the area again which last night's useless ref deemed it acceptable and penalised Joseph instead, a couple of sliced clearances and a pass straight into touch - £16 million - we pulled their pants down, second only to the sale of Clucas to Swansea for a similar amount
Er, we don't. We have a consultant who basically phones in with advice/research on upcoming opponents. And to think we apparently have a set piece coach....
Wtf?What game were you watching? The time when he was clear, could have slipped in Beloumi, but left it too late and got robbed for the tenth time, yeah you're right he was brilliant, no wonder so many people think you're an idiot.

Giles had the assist for Destan and then laid one on a plate for Joseph vs QPR which he managed to hit the goalie with. I also thought he had massively overhit a cross well past the far post, which found Belloumi who then miscontrolled. Burnsey pointed out that no City player had got in the box. That ‘over hit cross’ was actually his only option and considering he had a split second to pick out, was incredible vision and skill.I think McBurnie missing plays a big part, but on the point of the full backs, they'll often make the runs still and then not get picked for that pass anywhere near as much as previous.
I think people focusing on the attack not being as good when it was second best in the league, ahead of the more concerning defensive record, largely due to individual errors that we've still not cut out, is a bit odd. It's got to be the more pressing concern.

He also put in a few tricky crosses last night too, so have no concerns about him being worked out.

Agreed. We just need to make sure we're using him as an outlet more frequently as the number of crosses he's able to put in per game has definitely dropped off recently. It's the build up that's started to fall down a bit.
Could we no play tonight’s Ipswich… they were awful….
I didn't think they looked that good on Tuesday. Unfortunately we weren't any better. It was a scrappy game all round.Could we no play tonight’s Ipswich… they were awful….
'One mistake cost us' - reaction
Hull head coach Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside:
"I can split this game in two parts - until 70 minutes we were almost perfect because we controlled everything, even though Ipswich, in this league, maybe have the best possession.
"First half they didn't have any shots towards our goal, so this was good. But on 70 minutes it was a crucial moment for me because we made one mistake which they immediately punished, but this was the quality of Ipswich.
"We tried to take more risks but unfortunately we immediately conceded a second goal - I don't know if it was offside.
"The first was a very poor goal because we had a full defence, the cross was not so sharp that you cannot defend it. If not, maybe it would have stayed zero-zero or we would have scored a late goal."

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna told BBC Radio Suffolk:
"It was a tough game and I thought we showed the things you need to show in the Championship on tough midweek nights when you're not playing on a perfect pitch.
"Our intensity was good, our defending was really good, the only chances we gave away were from a couple of turnovers - our press was good and made it hard for a good footballing team to get any sort of moves going.
"We didn't have as much control of the ball as we'd have liked in the first half but you have to have that base of hard work, intensity, organisation and resilience that we showed, and if you do that, then you know the goals can come.
"We scored a really good first goal and you could see the difference that made to the game, confidence comes into the group, the opposition open up some more spaces and stop working so hard to stop us, and we looked a big threat in the last 25 minutes."
