Well in James Vaughan we have a guy in a similar situation, some players are just always injured...

Isn't it strange that some of the most gifted players throughout history have suffered in this way. The most striking example in my opinion is Bryan Robson. For so many years United tried to build a title winning team around him but he was forever in and out of the side injured. His bad luck with injuries also hampered his international career. It wasn't until his final season with United when he was just a bit part player that their domination of The Premier began.

Darren Anderton, Owen Hargreaves and Ledley King all instantly spring to mind.

There must come a point as a player when you're spending more time injured than playing that you think 'is it worth it?'

Also just noticed, was the title of this meant to be a pun? Because if yes, it's awful!

Dave, have you thought about buying a really warm jumper, then you'll save yourself the effort of getting your coat.

With regards to the post, I don't think any manager can/should justify buying an injury prone player.

It's a shame for them and a horrible situation for him, but is it totally unpredictable?

Perhaps it would be easier to just wear a coat all the time Dave... <whistle>

Is it worth it? On the money he's on (or has been on) as a Prem and England footballer - probably!
