Arrogant , self serving, corrupt, incompetent, vile Tory politicians They spoke to us on TV every night at one stage, and what struck me was the fact that a lot of what they said was clearly lies, and how useless and untalented they appeared to be Career politicians (most of whom were ridiculously young)who would do almost anything to stay in power Bojo had used the same tactic as a lot of dictators and kings, surrounded himself with a group of people who relied on him for their position, and if they went against him they would lose their job Why on earth did we vote the awful BJ into power, what a mistake that was
Don't forget those "Nightingale Hospitals", must have cost a pretty penny Only one problem, no spare staff to operate them.
Frightening isn’t it, and to think the Tories are only 2points behind Labour at the moment in the polls tells you an even more frightening story.
If people vote for a clown expect a circus. Those that are impressed with Get Brexit Done and Build Back Better rubbish need to be very wary of populist right wing politicians who wouldn’t piss on working class people if they were on fire.
They used the one near Nissan as a vaccination centre. I had my first two jabs there. I don't think it was ever used as a hospital though.
I am in no way claiming the govt did a good job. I genuinely dont know how you judge such a thing. I am always a little wary of public enquiries. We do spend an awful lot of money on them. And I am never sure lessons learned are taken forward. That said, seeing laid bare some of what went on is maddening. Other stuff I can forgive, e.g. the app - a well intentioned tool to combat spread. I doubt anyone can put a figure on lives saved. Seems a bit unreasonable to call it out as wasteful. But just a thought. I just hope we dont see another pandemic. I would be certain once again we lose lives that will be judged unnecessary. Nature has a funny way of showing mankind up to be foolish and somewhat irrelevant.
Has this actually revealed anything that we didn't know already? If Jezza had won the election, would he have dealt with it any better?
23,000 died of covid, how many died of flu or heart attacks? How many died of covid in care homes where no covid was detected? How many would have died if there was NO lockdown like Sweden? Sweden had a slight upsurge of deaths, nothing like 23,000, and after covid the country just went back to normal. Without all of the financial scandle that followed the British lockdown. IMO the lockdown was a complete shambles. The covid enquiry an even bigger expensive shambles!
You can delete it if you just leave a full stop. No idea why you can’t delete, you would think it should be simple enough
You're right that we shouldn't take at face value the number of deaths attributed to covid, that was just the cause of death noted on the death certificate and there may well have been other factors involved. It was 227,000 deaths in the UK, the 23,000 figure is the amount of deaths the UK could have prevented had we managed the situation better. The clear and undeniable evidence that covid was a killer comes when you look at the number of excess deaths compared to average rates. Look at the spikes man, particularly the one in 2020, it's enough to give you shivers.
To my knowledge they were set up to house people who would otherwise have been hospitalised- obviously there wasn’t enough capacity in our existing hospitals so they were the alternative- like an overflow car park Ultimately they were only used to administer the Covid vaccines- got both of mine at the Washington one
