Match Preview;
Our visitors this Saturday, Hull City, have won 7, drawn 4 and lost 4 so far this season. Their tally of 25 points means they sit 5th in the table, two points away from 7th placed Ipswich and 4 points below the automatic promotion spots. They've finished 15th, 7th then 21st in the last three seasons. Since May 2024 they've had four managers...Tim Walter, Andy Dawson, Ruben Selles and now Sergej Jakirović. I assume they'll be hoping the manager changes will help them turn the tide, and return to the Premier League for the first time in 8 years...this makes me feel old, seems only the other day Hull were the talk of the town and were knocking on the door of a Champion League spot.

As for us, after three losses in a row, we managed to stop the rot last time out, with a 0-0 draw to end a run of three losses. That run has seen us drop to 16th in the table, with 19 points from 15 games. I keep reminding myself that I had no massive expectations for this season, and that the brief very good spell we had was just a sign of our potential, but not sustainable given our squad, and lack of depth in the squad. I still have hope that Kone will begin hitting the back of the net on a more regular basis, and I reckon a few goals and his confidence will get the boost it needs and he'll do very well...time will tell.

A link managers pre-match interview is below, enjoy if you'll be at HQ tomorrow, wrap up warm, and as always...

...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

Cheers Dave, no names to add …….yet.

For some reason I thought this was an away game being played tomorrow night which would be snowed off. Now I am preparing for a fun trip to Shepherds Bush on Saturday.

Made me check, but it is definitely Saturday at HQ. Don't sweat over the names, I'm happy to rest in my smugness for as long as possible, fully recognising this is only due to my ability to copy and paste the names you lot add every week. :emoticon-0138-think

Surprised Vale hasn’t had a go at left-back. Has played there before apparently and it could be a choice of Field or, god forbid, Esquerdinha from January.

I think Vale is a handy squad player. Probably shouldn’t be starting. Probably won’t be when Poku is back until the next injury.

This thread has now been up for over 24 hours, and no names have been added that I've missed off the 'players who played for both' list.

I know this will be like waving a red flag in front of bulls, but still thought it worth mentioning.

As you know I have a few go-to random noughties loanees for these situations and I give you Wayne Brown.

Unusually harsh for you mate. What made you say that? I know he's been off for a few games now but then who hasn't with the exception of Burrell. Having only seen what I've read he seemed to be ok earlier on

Signed last winter's window even though he failed the medical and we were prepared to wait until this season for him to get fit, made me think he must be pretty good. But he's disappointed me more than any of our players so far this season. He's got no pace, doesn't seem to defend well, not physically imposing, and his passing got more and more inaccurate until he was left out, and has stayed out since. He got one good goal and an assist he needed a few attempts to put in the right place. He doesn't look a right winger at all but his lack of pace and defensive ability make me doubt he'd be any good at LB where he played for Bristol Rovers, or in midfield. Certainly he needs to get his passing regularly far more accurate again. Perhaps he will, he's got good ball control and had that one good goal, but not so much else I've seen so far.

He played LB in the League Cup game at Plymouth and looked very comfortable.
