proper music - saw their latest incarnation in Bethesda just over a week ago

been there, done that - used to work as glass collector in Romeos and remember them being on when I was working - someone said or did something to the lead singer who booted the guy in the head from the stage - only in Hull

Keith Richard’s booted somebody in the head from the stage in Blackpool back in 1964. Stones were always in front. I remember the uproar from the oldies aka parents which of course made us like them more. Had seen the Stones two weeks before at Brid Spa. Would love to see a longer clip of this as was stood about 6 foot from the stage and see if I could spot myself.

JULY 24 1964
A riot broke out during The Rolling Stones gig at The Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, Lancashire, after Keith Richards kicked a yob in the mouth who was spitting at the group. Two policemen and 30 fans were injured and the damage was estimated at over £4,000. The Rolling Stones were then banned from playing in Blackpool for forty-four years, (until the ban was lifted).”

This doesn’t quite fit but trying to clear some junk , wife collected 49 editions of the monthly ‘History of Rock’ from 1982 , anyone interested or know where to dispose of them , they are good reading .
May have a list of albums soon , we all bought some bizarre ones and good that we no longer like .

Lol. I’ve got the History of Rock all in their presentation volume covers cluttering up a bookshelf alongside half a set of Encyclopaedia Brittanias. Missus is forever trying to get me to bin the lot.

Internet kind of did for the Encyclopaedia market I guess.

Off to see the Sambroso All Stars doing a Buena Vista Social Club tribute in Social, Humber St in December. Saw the originals 25-odd years ago so looking forward to this.

Decided to get tickets for Foo Fighters at Anfield.

Was going to see them a few years ago and never got round to getting tickets so doing this one

Saw them at Villa park year before last. Absolute ****e, might as well stick a megaphone in a metal can inside a cave with an extra reverb plug in for all you could hear. Just a load of noise, most awful sound I’ve ever had the misfortune to experience.

For the bargain price of £100 each.
