Yes, I'm attracted to this also. He seems to be attack-minded, which is what Norwich fans generally want. What he achieved at Blackburn (missing out on the play-offs by goal difference) despite their dysfunctional ownership was impressive. Plus I think the appointment would have a kind of neutrality amongst our fans, unlike Martin or Still who I suspect would both be divisive, so I hope we'd unite and get behind him for a while.
For me, the utter failure with Sweden doesn't matter too much because the dynamics of managing a club and those of managing an international team are completely different and there are examples of many managers who were very good at one and very poor at the other.
Tomasson has many good attributes, having played at the top level, coached at Blackburn, where he left because he wasn't backed with transfers and his tactical approach is based on a quick, direct style of play:

As a head coach you need to have a very clear vision of how to do things. There needs to be a connection with everything you do. The way you talk about football, and the way you train, has to be connected to what you see in games. So you must be very transparent and clear on what you expect from the players, on and off the pitch. If you can see a team that has a very clear identity and way of playing, and if they play with energy, you will see that they are playing with a smile on their face. And then I think they will be more creative, run quicker, and help each other even more. We must not forget that we need to take care of football as a product and give something back to the fans. There needs to be excitement, even if from a coach’s point of view you want that to come with control. I don’t want chaotic football; I want to control chaos and dominate with and without the ball.”

Pretty sure Lampard is doing well because he's a decent coach.

Good question, he certainly had plenty of success Coventry, I would suggest it's because those who were loyal when things were going well didn't have the strength of character to support him when he hit a bad spell.
If Lampard's such a great coach why has he failed so badly before ?
If Manning's such a bad coach, why was he successful before he came to Norwich ?
Logic would say that to date Lampard's failed as a coach more often than he's succeeded.

My view was that Lampard would have been a good appointment rather than Manning.
Manning lost 10 home games on the trot without a single point at home .

Since when was a single instance of getting a team into the Championship play-offs considered a mark of noteworthy "success"? Manning has never built a senior-level team; he's always taken over solid teams built by others.
