Enjoyed that. Even when they scored both of their goals, I felt we were going to win. They've instilled that belief that, even when losing, they're going to get back into the game and score. Gelhardt is fantastic - him and McBurnie pushing one another for top goalscorer at the club will only be a good thing. I really want it to work out for Joseph - he works his arse off and was happy to see him score today. Destan seemed to be a bit of a nuisance up front, winning headers, holding up and flicking on. It wasn't his most lively game but it gave us a target and Joseph somebody to run off. Giles is probably showing himself as the best left back in the league - what a turnaround. Looking forward to seeing us progress with our more offensive players returning to the fold. Few things to look at - - Pandur's kicking. He spent ages with the ball at his feet (particularly first half) and then would kick the ball to one of their players typically. - Last few teams are getting a lot of crosses in from our right-hand side/their left. Happened against Norwich and happened today a few times too. Not a Coyle bashing - he's lacking any sense of protection in front of him from the central midfield 3 or the wing. - The guy sitting behind me really needs to shut up talking about anything but the game Bit of a clown!
I could be wrong but given he allegedly forced the move here. He can kick up a stink if Leeds try force something and refuse to sign a deal.
We can't see whats comng at him like he can, apart from that he elected to punch the ball clear, the ball landed 30 to 40 yds from our goal why are we so slow at coming out and pressing the opponents midfield.
Ok what can stop us realistically failing to make the play offs. Has to be the goals against. Everything else says top 6. We have seen enough now to get excited. This team/squad has balls
I thought Pandur was ok today. Bar pondering on the ball. But that’s not his game. Just pass a few short then go long. We’ve enough to win the ball up the pitch. We can’t sell him as we can’t replace him so he his here to stay.
In last 2 home games I’ve seen 5 people blatantly going in on the wrong pass , I’m not a grass but genuinely wondering the point of those stewards on other side of the turnstile , I thought that was their job monitoring that
I wish I knew this was a cheap tickets game. Would have been ideal to bring my daughter to. But I didn't know I was free until last night so wouldn't have got tickets anyway
derby and ipswich are on runs. ipswich have joined us on 26 goals scored but from a game less. 13 goals in their last 5 games. five wins in five for derby, which followed a run of no wins from five. the goals scored list is still looking silly with coventry scoring 50% more than the next highest, us and ipswich. the total goals in games: 53 coventry 50 hull city 42 ipswich* 41 sheff w 40 bristol c, qpr 39 derby, wrexham, southampton 38 oxford 37 millwall, birmingham, watford, sheff u, norwich 34 preston, leicester, swansea 33 blackburn* 32 middlesbrough, west brom, portsmouth 31 stoke 28 charlton
We could have been 2 up before I even got in the ground, those first 2 chances were easier than any of the 3 we scored!
Absolutely no chance with first, totally wrong footed with deflection, second brilliant cross, awful marking. If anything Giles caught wrong side, lost his player Hughes’s not tight but for me watch it and it’s Giles who let him go. Pandur maybe could have dived but had no chance it went straight into the corner.
Win lose or draw I like how we play. These twats who nitpick on match days need to get to games for a change instead of sniping from the sidelines. UTT
Cross for pompeys second was absolute quality, sit right behind it in west upper and as soon as it left his foot I thought that deserves to be finished off
