hughes attempts to be an action man gives away so many chances

when seargent missed the open goal from 2 yards, it came about becasue hughes tried running out with the ball, got tackled, and then hes nowhere near the box when the ball comes in
Would you rather we played really cautiously though? This is simply the consequence of playing with the handbrake off, **** will happen sometimes.

Agree, I think he’s very rash a lot of the time, if we don’t drop away I think his place in the team could come under question if he doesn’t start cutting out these mad mistakes.

I think he will learn and cut out those rash moments. Greaves was a bit like that, his problem being that he was constantly trying to wrestle attackers at set pieces. When he realised he was actually better than most attackers and didn't need to do that, he was a better player for it.

Interesting that Greaves seems to have been dropped by Ipswich. His last game was a 3-0 home defeat against Charlton. Since then, they've won twice. Doesn't seem to be going swimmingly there for him.

No it's a bit strange. You can understand him struggling in the premier league but he looked a different class for us at this level.

Why do Burnsey and Baz say that Gelhardt played the ball back to Egan?
Egan shot direct from the kick-off.

Because no-one on that podcast actually seems to pay any attention.

Half the time they can't even remember past games or upcoming fixtures.

Embarrassing really, if wager most posters on here would be able to recite our every result so far and at least the next five fixtures.

Someone posted that Gelhardt has played the ball back to Egan on here so that’s probably where Baz has got it from.

Burnsey may have got it from Baz, don’t know about that.

Both of them watched the match so why would they not believe their own eyes?
Kick a moving ball accurately is more difficult anyway so why would they even try?

I suspect that you’re not taking into account the ages of a large number of us on here.

I would be shocked if Palmer isn't the main focus to shift to free up not only a squad spot but wages for someone like Zambrano. As for Carvahlo, I've learned to never say never but think it would be tricky to manage.
Where did this Carvalho/Carvahlo link spring from?

Whoa, chinese whispers hits football commentary!

Acun said that he still has regular contact with Carvalho and wants to try to bring him back.
Sorry Syd the Carvalho post was premature, I looked it up afterwards. My post was meant to be just a jokey thing about the Egam/Burnsy/Baz thing.

It's the way the board works. If you start to reply then change your mind you can't lose what you've typed in, so it can inadvertently get posted on the next completed post.
