1500 Jamaican Muslims. We’d be crazy to rule it out. Crazy.Must be part of the Jamaican muslim community
How can they ever be guaranteed safe though? It's impossible to do that.
You are correct - but scanners / detectors at the bigger stations and more transport police would help ... but that requires investment...

Then people would just target smaller stations.
It's just not feasible to protect everyone from this sort of thing.
Said to my missus after the Ukrainian girl was stabbed on a train in New York, this stuff needs to be stamped out with extreme ****ing prejudice.
As bobby said, should have shot that **** dead. But now he will be in prison complaining about the food.
Trains/buses are confined places that millions of people use daily, if they can't be guaranteed safe, what the **** are we doing?
This is another instance of a black fella with a knife, needs an explanation what is going on in these communities.
Trains are easy to manage, they are enclosed environments, you couldn't get an easier situation to manage. Every station you have to go through has a barrier, the smaller stations would be far easier to manage as well due to a lot less volume. Let's remember here the railway companies claimed they were getting rid of ticket offices so they could have those people managing the public need on platforms, well here's there chance. From what I've heard which I will not repeat until it comes out officially, this guy should never have been even allowed to get near a station, let alone on a train - not the first time we have failed in these scenarios. It's only going to be a matter of time before facial recognition will be used at stations, if the police are not already using it on the quiet. Afterall airports manage all this. We never use to have this knife problem, we just need a serious approach to it, rather than more excuses and more sorries everytime someone gets stabbed up...the cost of every one of these events must be astronomical to the emergency services, so the investment is worth it....Archers just need to pull his finger out.

Not all smaller stations have barriers though.
I just don't see how you could install metal detectors at every single station of which there must be thousands. Let alone police then as we don't have anywhere near enough police as it is, isn't it over 10k less than we had 15 years ago?
Airports aren't really comparable as there must be 50-100 times more train stations than airports, also so many more people use them. Can you imagine having to queue up to take your shoes and belt off outside Waterloo or Euston
Agree re facial recognition and that's where you need to be careful in saying that we need to make all train stations safe cos the government will just go "okay well the easiest and safest way of doing that is facial recognition".
Sadly I think it's simply a case of there's always going to be a risk some **** going on a stabbing spree in a train station/shopping centre/car park/supermarket etc. and you can't make every single public area safe.
For me the only thing we can do is massively increase sentencing just for carrying a knife but that brings its ow problems about prison spaces and staffing.
I don't disagree with you and my reaction is more the extreme scenario, especially as I'm not aware of these incidents occuring that often on trains. What does need to change though is our approach to people carrying knifes, as the Tories would say and have, stop and search goes down, knife crime goes up. We need to take on @Spurlock ideas, choppy choppy, do that a few times you will cure knife crime over night, and this is my main beef, we are not doing enough and I blame all our politicians for that.
Old bill turns up and does this to the side of the carriage
