I think being weekend, late on a Saturday, the journos are a bit slow getting to the place. Also the police will want to release very little detail until the circumstances have been established.
Was discussing this the other night, some local lad gets stabbed 10 yrs ago, it's front page news and national outrage, now its, oh another one. Really ****ing sad.
Two eyewitnesses via SKY producer:
Train had only left Peterborough by some 10 mins when panicked ensued, man with a large knife. Police used tazer to restrain him. No mention by witnesses of second person. Arms, legs and head injuries. Lots of panic and noise on what was a busy train in narrow corridors to escape.

I've read that Huntingdon is not a normal stop for this train, so assume it was the nearest location to reach for emergency assistance.

This ^ been confirmed by eyewitness that contact had been made with the driver, and he had no choice but to proceed to the nearest station, witness said it was the right thing to do.

Yup, quick and clear message for anyone engaging in this type of terrorism, don't care they say it's not terrorism, you get on a packed train, where people can't escape, with a big fook off knife and start stabbing people you are a terrorist.
Well done to the emergency services for such a quick response, and also well done to the quick thinking train driver aiming for the safety of the station rather than stopping in the middle of no where, it's a difficult situation to be put in.

There was only one attacker mate.
I thought it odd at the time when they said there had been two arrested, because eye witness accounts had only ever mentioned the one. I guess the cops just went for the black guys...
more seriously though, suppose the cops just arrest whoever, at least they didn't shoot them like they did at the synagogue when they took out an innocent. Killing another innocent could have been a big problem.Lol.

I agree mate, no escape on a train must have been terrifying.
Feel for the employee of the railway that tackled the man and is now in a life threatening position.
Some rumours circulating about the attacker but will see what the main media pick up on first, if true it will open up lots of questions why the attacker wasn't apprehended sooner.

Said to my missus after the Ukrainian girl was stabbed on a train in New York, this stuff needs to be stamped out with extreme ****ing prejudice.

Trains/buses are confined places that millions of people use daily, if they can't be guaranteed safe, what the **** are we doing?
