Jakirovic: 'It's a huge victory for us'

Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside:

"Joffy's [Joe Gelhardt] finish was excellent with his weak foot. He had also problems with his ankle and he had a kick in the first half.

"I was asking him if he wanted to continue, but he wanted to play. This also shows his character and he wants to play all the time. I'm very, very happy with him and since he's arrived here, his statistics are amazing.

"I must admit, we survived the first half because Norwich were much better than us. At half-time, we changed our shape, and from the beginning of the second half, we looked much better. These are a huge three points for us."

I apologise to the fans for that' - Manning
Norwich City head coach Liam Manning told BBC Radio Norfolk:

[On exiting down the players' tunnel at the final whistle] "I apologise to the fans for that, it's not good from me.

"I'm hurting, it's not the right thing to do and I apologise to everyone for that.

"Ultimately you're tired of saying the same things - I'm scratching my head.

"I reflect on my performance first, and you look at the first half and you have to be ahead.

"We just shoot ourselves in the foot by giving away, yet again, a horrific goal.

"It's the same message, you keep fighting. Clearly there's a lot that needs to change. We have to look in-house and change."

It is quite mind blowing that given our embargo, and our injury list we sit 7th, think you have to give massive credit to Serj who, despite the ****storm we've had he still has us more then competitive and producing results. He has galvanised this group of players into a tight knit squad and is reaping the rewards from it, bravo sir.

Just noticed on my Bet365 account that they've paid out on Gelhardt 1+ shots on target, Joseph 1+ shots on target and City to win.

We only had 4 shots on target and I can't recall Joseph (or Destan who replaced him) having 2.

Still, I'll take it.

1+ in that context means one or more, so you're definitely a winner there!

I was just on YT watching some highlights from Norwichs fans.behind the goal...... Josephs miss..... dear me... Gyabi was unmarked, no player within 20 yards of him. He had time to stop the ball, tie has boot laces and then score...

He desperately needs to improve his quality. His work rate is unreal but fluffing chances like that will cost us sooner or later.
