Not at all a fan of Starmer. Think he has been handed a poisoned chalice and he has made an absolute ****ing mess of it.
I was replying to the comment the tories had a nerve to criticise Labour sleeze. Labours problem is they were so strong on tory sleeze they now have to live to the standard they set. I think they have created a rod for their own back.Apparently not.
Letting agent apologises for 'oversight' on Reeves rental licence
Sir Keir Starmer says Chancellor Rachel Reeves faces no further action for renting out her London home without the required licence. Yesterday evening, the letting agency she had used apologised for an "oversight" that meant it did not obtain the licence for her. The PM's ethics adviser says he found "no evidence of bad faith" on Reeves's part.

Sorry about the spelling mistakes before the leftys jump on it.Has alot of it being down to the lack of commonsense on both sides and transparecy
Argh, I missed the nuance. Regarding the rod, Starmer bats with a straight bat. As I've said, maybe on another thread, politics has become poorer, it's now just a case of mud slinging. Waiting for something to stick, or get a bite, then just drip feed further revelations. As someone else, maybe you, said, there are no more statesmen in politics. I believe Starmer will prove a few wrong.I was replying to the comment the tories had a nerve to criticise Labour sleeze. In the case of Reeves I am pleased it is a non-story personally. I said earlier it felt minor and hardly worth losing your job over. But the problem remains for Labour that every little sniff of sleeze will be whipped up. Brought that on themselves sadly. I would sooner they all spent more time leading our country than answering conduct questions.
I really hope you are right mate. I really do. We need him and his team to have a stellar next few years for all of our wellbeing and most importantly to me our kids futures. The alternatives right now to Labour are awful, Lib Dems possibly excepted. I hope he battons down the hatches, puts his team on high alert and goes for the big political policies that will make the difference for the next 30 or 40 years.Argh, I missed the nuance. I quote their policies all the time. You won’t open your mind to the fact that the only financial benefit of them is for the richest coupled with the fact that leaving the ECHR will leave workers with no rights. That’s what you’re supporting- not me and you unless you’re worth a wedge. My opinion does not matter to you as you have made up your mind what you think of Reforms policies without knowing what they are as you haven't read their contract/manifesto
So most of the Farage hate is founded on what media and labour push out.
My opinion is we should reform the NHS far to much money is wasted and before you jump in with but Farage wants to privatise it you would be talking bollocks look at Reforms manifesto.
We need to make our country more self sufficient in terms of energy stop importing gas and oil which we have in abundance.
Net zero as you'll agree is costing tax payers a fortune that needs to be looked into.
Legal and illegal immigrants needs to be stemmed the influx is ridiculous.
You put out some garbage
Apparently not.

LABOUR SCANDALS SINCE COMING TO POWER
Labour swept into power in July last year with a resounding general election win, off the back of promises of "change".
But it's been a rocky first 14 months in power - here are the main scandals and controversies so far...
September 2024 - Freebie-gate
There was outrage over the number of freebies Labour ministers - including Sir Keir Starmer - took from various sources, including concert tickets, football tickets, and more.
Lord Alli was a particularly prolific donor, and the PM was in hot water when it emerged he had failed to declare that some of his wife's high-end clothes were bought for her by the Labour peer.
November 2024 - Reeves's CV
Questions were raised about inaccuracies in the chancellor's CV and her use of expenses in a previous job, and she was accused of saying she worked for the Bank of England for longer than she did.
Reeves's spokesperson said she was "not aware of an investigation, nor was she interviewed". Her lawyer has denied the allegations.
November 2024 - transport secretary resignation
Louise Haigh resigned as transport secretary hours after Sky News revealed that she pleaded guilty to an offence related to incorrectly telling police that a work mobile phone was stolen in 2013.
January 2025 - Treasury minister resignation
Tulip Siddiq resigned as a Treasury minister after controversy over links to her aunt's ousted political movement in Bangladesh - although she was found not to have breached the ministerial code.
February 2025 - Labour MP jailed for assault
MP Mike Amesbury was jailed for assault after punching a man in the street. He later quit the Commons.
February 2025 - health minister sacked
Andrew Gwynne was sacked as a health minister after he reportedly made antisemitic comments and 'joked' about a pensioner constituent, saying he hoped she died before the next election, according to the Mail on Sunday.
February 2025 - cabinet minister apology
The then business secretary, Jonathan Reynolds, apologised in the Commons after it emerged he claimed to be a solicitor - despite not finishing his training.
May 2025 - Grooming gangs 'dog whistle' controversy
The Tories demanded the resignation of Lucy Powell as Commons leader after she referred to calls for a grooming gangs inquiry as a "dog whistle". She later apologised and said she takes the issue with the utmost seriousness.
After being sacked from the cabinet in September, she was elected Labour deputy leader in October.
August 2025 - homelessness minister resignation
Homelessness minister Rushanara Ali resigned after reportedly hiking the rent on a property she owns by hundreds of pounds - something described by one of her tenants as "extortion".
September 2025 - deputy PM resignation
Angela Rayner resigned as deputy PM, housing secretary, and Labour deputy leader when she was found to have breached the ministerial code after admitted to Sky News that she underpaid stamp duty on a new property in Hove.
September 2025 - Mandelson sacked as US ambassador
Peter Mandelson was sacked as the UK's ambassador to the US over his ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein after new emails revealed the Labour peer sent messages of support to Epstein even as he faced jail for sex offences in 2008.
October 2025
Rachel Reeves rents her house without the correct licence in place. £57k from rental payments. Got caught.. denies knowing a licence is needed from the council where the house is situated..
The Chancellor doesn't know the law regarding rental properties.
Ah well, at least they're not ripping the taxpayer off for billions (that's BILLIONS) due to handing out under the counter contracts for PPE to their associates. All relative imo.Nothing to see here

Oops sorry lads and lasses I forgot this thread is about StarmerRead something the other day about Wes Streeting taking money from private healthcare companies while sorting out the NHS.
Hurrah someone has come onto the thread with an alternative point of view maybe now we will get some input from them instead of attacking individuals. Welcome ned werby.Ah well, at least they're not ripping the taxpayer off for billions (that's BILLIONS) due to handing out under the counter contracts for PPE to their associates. All relative imo.
I want borders like they used to be before the manipulation of the truth before Brexit. Controlled and an agreement to share numbers. Not this fantasy being put out that you’ll ever stop it. Basically people talking **** again so they can stop their wealth being contributed to public services. You've got it all wrong.
Open borders is that what you want?
Legal immigrants are welcome
Illegal entrants=illegally arrived contrary to Section 1 immigration act 1971.
Bin your passport once you are abroad and try getting back into your own country even though you are a UK citizen you will be detained until you are verified.
You won't be put up in a 4/5 star hotel and have the freedom to come and go as you please.
You'll be sat on a hard bench left alone for hours until you are cleared and then you'll have to buy a new passport costing you over £100 quid.
Hurrah someone has come onto the thread with an alternative point of view maybe now we will get some input from them instead of attacking individuals. Welcome ned werby.
So how do you think Starmer is doing?
And how you think he can turn it around, if he can he may get my vote.
Oh and by the way the misdoings were by the tory party this thread is about Starmer
After this I’m not commenting on an active reform member’s threads. For clarity I’m a member of no party and I’m not sure who I’ll vote for next time but I know two parties I wont vote for based on policy and ideology alone
Apparently not.
