Migrant sex offender given £500 to be deported
Migrant sex offender Hadush Kebatu was given a payment of £500 to be deported, Sky News understands.

The discretionary payment was made due to his threats to disrupt his removal, it is understood, and the decision was an operational one made by removal teams, not ministers.

Kebatu was forcibly deported from the country overnight, with a team of five officers accompanying him on the flight to Ethiopia.

Sky News understands the decision to make the payment was made because the alternative was a slower and more expensive process, which would have included detention, a new flight and potentially fighting subsequent legal claims.

Costs of cancelling the flight alone would have run into several thousands of pounds, it is claimed.

I sort of guessed he would receive some sort of payment on leaving, no problem with that amount, which is peanuts to what he would have cost us.

I think my only argument is that the UK consider Ethiopia safe enough for the UK to return him. It's either safe for him or it's not, regardless of any crime being commited while here.

Should've put the **** In a cage by the side of the runaway and left him in there until the next flight. No food or drink, no blanket no pillow, nothing

Thenyd get on the fuking next flight that's for sure

I don't believe there was any deliberate intention to break the law, I think it was more an overlooked formality and she would have been issued a licence anyway...

The only gripe I would have is as I have for all politicians, they have no idea what it's like on the lower end of the ladder nor do they care. Maybe she would like to donate one months rent to a local foodbank in way of an apology with no more said on the matter..

Anyone remember Labours manifesto when they got elected..All fully costed.

Well it would seem that might have been a bit of a lie since they seem to have missed a lot of open knowledge information out.
Didn`t even know about Brexit FFS.

It is understood the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) is set to revise down its predictions for productivity of the UK economy, leading to a £20bn gap in meeting her tax and spending rules.

Sir Keir told MPs the downgrade showed the "true extent of the damage" done to the economy by the Conservatives, citing "austerity", Brexit and the mini-Budget under Liz Truss in September 2022.

Badenoch rejected this, and hit back that the prime minister was more prepared to "dip into people's pockets" than upset Labour MPs by cutting welfare spending.

"He is raising taxes because he is too weak to control spending. He's blaming us. He's blaming the OBR (Office for Budget Responsibility)," she added.

"Last week, they were blaming Brexit. Isn't the truth that with this prime minister, it's always someone else's fault?"

Just need 'ooh, I forgot' Reeves to resign and its been a good week

I hope he's prosecuted. The idea that this is some kind of 'justice' because he's had his titles taken away doesn't really cut it.

Should be the first step, and then a criminal investigation.

It's pretty obvious that there are dozens like him, wealthy entitled men who abused young women who are desperate to try and make all of this go away.

Prosecuted for what? The only laws he's accused of breaking were in the US. And the victim is dead.

Having sex with a 17 year old isn't illegal in the UK. As grim as it is for a man of his age.

Be curious to find out where he does end up living free of charge at our tax payers expense.

It might not be in that 'lodge' (it's a ****ing castle), but it'll be somewhere nice and comfortable he won't pay a penny towards.
