Said the other week KJ is like our version of Dirk Kuyt. He's become pretty integral to our game and fair play to him. He'll bag a few more over the season if he keeps up what he's doing, and he should only improve as he develops as well. His energy alone - even if he doesn't win the ball high up the pitch, he keeps the other team on their toes and persuades them into more long balls rather than waltzing straight down the pitch towards our goal with ball at feet like we saw so often last season. He's a good player for us at this level.

his energy and pressing (KJ) is certainly an asset and if we are winning games he’s clearly a useful part of the system but at the minute he’s less prolific than Eaves/Magennis and I’m convinced not a single team in the top half of the table would have him anywhere near the side never mind spunking 2.5m
I was there. Can't recall it raining. I'm sure Koren got the first from a right scramble with about 15 to go, then Tom Cairney with a trademark free kick from the edge of the box. It never got as high as two feet off the ground and fizzed into the net. Who was the kid playing up top for them?....On loan from Spurs. I said to the guy I was with..'That kid up top for them looks terrible. We'll never hear much of him'......It turned out to be Harry Kane.
Billy was a rough diamond and it was'nt until he came under the wing and mentorship of the late Chris Chilton who made him the player he became. In any interview Billy has he always mentions his deep gratitude for what Chris did for him
That's simply not true.
As others have said, he was dreadful to start with. He became near unplayable by the time he left us ....not due to being technically gifted but due to raw strength, power, fight, etc. That's why he ended up wearing Newcastle's (once) famous no. 9 shirt. That doesn't happen by being average (at old div 2 level) or a joke.

And yet Peter Beardsley quoted him as his favourite striker to play with, cant have been that bad although I suspect that had something to do with the 'minder' aspect
Better to remember how great he was in the lower leagues for us and helped make our own cultured geordie god Sir Les Mutrie look like Thierry Henry next to him.

Rubbish that Chazz he was decent for us and even better when he came back from Sunderland. That said, I thought sir les mutrie and Andy Peyton were better.
