Just received my winter fuel allowance this morning, last time £250 each for me and my wife, this time £100 each.
Anybody else had £300 knocked off?
Think they took into account the valuation of your house <laugh>

No idea in reality. My Dad was going on about losing some at the weekend until I told him he never puts the effing heating on anyway the tight sod <cheers>

Thank you Monty - so it appears that it is in fact not illegal to enter the UK and so make application for refugee status.

But if this is so then those that take a boat to cross the channel then apply to stay are NOT ILLEGAL - only if their application is refused are they then illegal and are required to be deported.
I fail to see why there is so much discussion here. A traveller arrives - asks for permission it is either granted or denied.

Perhaps it is the resources needed to process the application are inadequate is the REAL problem here ???
A person is not illegal until their application is denied - sorry this whole discussion is basically
absurd - end of.

No, entering the UK by dinghy from France is not legal, as it is considered illegal entry. Any person who arrives this way is subject to detention and removal, with new laws in place to block access to the UK's asylum system for those arriving via small boats.
  • It is illegal entry:
The act of arriving in the UK without permission or a visa is against the law, and people who do so can face up to four years in prison.
  • Detention and removal:
New legislation allows for the detention and rapid removal of individuals who enter the UK illegally via small boat.

A message for the local elections. There are non labour options that don’t want to round up people’s married neighbours and force them into a plane just because they’re foreign and black or brown.
but illegal, you pay for them i want to opt out like the majority of Brits if you want them you house them. i have no problem with legal entry my wife of 16 years is Kenyan, so is half of my family, her two brother went to university's in England paid by her dad One works for a robotics design firm the other aircraft cockpit electronics. They are paying massive amounts of of tax but even they get annoyed at illegals when they had to fill umpteen papers in and pay £55,000X2 a year for all the fees

two things - 1. this is a thread about NF, if you want to scream and stamp your feet about Labour MPs (why just Labour?), go and start a thread about it. 2. Without reverting to the usual diversionary tactics, if NF was your constituency MP would you be happy with him? Actually, make that three things - 3. Labour are not my 'comrades'.
If you want to slag Nigel off then show some proof here of the allegations you throw at him

Thank heavens Farage took the coward's option and went for Claicton where the populace is thick enough to swallow his bile …

… just imagine, at a time when Sunderland is starting to look progressively better, he’d become our MP.

We’d be an absolute laughing stock now. Business investors and sponsors would drop us like a stone, KLD would be wondering if he’d totally misjudged the place and the people.

We really dodged a bullet there.
I've tried looking for Claicton and cant find it on the map, Oh and through out our history there was never a time Sunderland was good under Labour, we were the poor cousins to Newcastle they got the pick of the crop first

Disgusting sadly yet another one of too many to lose their life in this way, due to a person who's religion, beliefs, worship and customs are alien to ours. Perhaps reverting to interviews, lessons and written tests ,would help overcome all these deaths happening all to frequently As nearly every country now carries out interviews, along with standard tests to weed out unstable people, before granting permission to stay,

Just read this. Basically says pensioners incomes have gone up but the lowest income pensioners less so so better that more goes there., but all obviously affected by the cost of living / fuel prices etc. Sorting the fuel costs seems a priority which I’d say is a good argument for green energy

Some good points and we need to remember which party brought the winter fuel payments in in the first place. The ‘bastards’ for one of our posters.

Have you walked around Sunderland city centre recently? As an outsider looking in I think it’s nightly impressive and must be up there with the most impressive regeneration in the country at the moment. I think your hatred of Labour is definitely blurring your vision on this one. Credit where it’s due. Hopefully the people of Sunderland don’t put this at risk next year by voting for the racist grifter.

Regarding your point re Newcastle I agree and Sunderland and its people need to continually fight its corner as Newcastle people have done.

Why do chancellors think they are some sort of superhero? They all suffer from some sort of ego it seems to me.

Reeves saying she will defy forecasts, not accept them. Why does she think she knows better I wonder? If she wont account for organisations like the OBR, she may as put on a pair of ear defenders and shout la la la as someone else reads her budget out. Mind you, so should many other chancellors of recent times.

I think most people accept the country is in a state. The world is in a state. Time for some honest politics. Raise taxes for everybody in an equitable manner. Income tax rise for every worker. Dont fall into the trap of hammering the top 10%, they already pay 50% of income tax. Everybody needs to find a bit to give.

We are already considered an unwelcoming country for growth and wealth creators, lets not make it worse by policies on the margins that are popular but long term cause harm. Create tax opportunities for high wealth organisations and individuals that will invest in growth. Far more tax income will flow that way.

Focus on the right growth areas too. Don't chase the unicorn tech companies, who are already courted by silicone valley. Make it appealing for them to stay and grow here. Look at Amazon and how their business model is changing so very quickly, we need an infrastructure that enables this new world. Build buils build data centres at a pace unseen before, without the red tape we put in the way. Build all the infrastructure needed to make the stuff tech future will require. This will generate growth. Take a lssson from Covid, we had the expertise in the UK to develop and manufacfure the jab, and we got it into out arms faster as a result. We need the similar infrastructure and expertise to get ahead of the AI race (as much as on a personal level I dislike AI).

Aye the same party the Deputy prime minister stole £40,000 off pensioners to line her nest.
The same party this poster arse licks daily.
Or the Tory party? Mone stole £220m from all of us. Jenerick fiddling £45m for his mates or Hancock getting contracts for his pub landlord? Or the grifter Farage who stole a living from the EU and now the people of Clacton?

Raynor needs to learn off the experts.

Plenty have benefited from the wfa which would have never happened because of the ‘bastard’ Labour Party.

arse lick? Are you 6 year old ffs? :)

lol, coming from someone who lives 24/7 on here telling everyone not to vote for Farage, when nobody on here gives a toss about him.
Obsessed ffs, worse than a mag.

Just as obsessed as those slagging off Labour 24/7 then?

Labour are far from perfect but compared to the person you highlight they are saints.

Enjoy your WFA. Well done Labour.
