Watched the game back again this morning and **** me fulham were lucky to get away with a one goal loss. By my count we should have 6/7 with Woltemade, Murphy, Bruno all missing sitters Joelintons header (just need to hit the target) and a few half chances as well.

Not much in the game until the last 15 minutes.

The stats confirm what I'm saying. The game was close and not much in it at all. Newcastle went up a gear though in the final 15 mins.

Both sides were wasteful.

Murphy and Bruno missed a great chance each, Woltemade post and Joelinton header.

Fulham didn't have anything other than the goal.

We were the better team throughout, just even more so last 15-20 mins.

Can't agree.. We created very little apart from the 1st 6 mins and the last quarter of the match.

Fulham were actually the better side in between that, but their final ball was poor...they were always threatening.

Ultimately Newcastle found another gear and created a few half chances and two big ones in the final 15 mins.

Sorry but that's just wrong, Murphy's goal and other one on one were in the first half after 6 mins, Bruno's header was the 63rd minute, how many chances are you expecting us to create?

I said very little...I watched the game and Fulham were very much in that until the last 15 mins. Anyone can sift out one sides chances and ignore the others..

The stats indicate my eyes were not wrong.

I'm not ignoring the others, they literally didn't have a clear cut chance apart from the goal.

Considering the 4 opportunities we had late on I think this is conclusive.

Shots doesn't really mean anything unless they are actually chances, it's not a telling stat.

I'd like to take this opportunity to once again confirm my position, which was that there was very little in the game until the final 15 mins when Newcastle went up a gear.

We didn't batter them but we were the better side apart from like a 10 min period in the second half.

Better for the 1st 6 mins and last 15 to 20. Nowt in it in between.. About right either way

Again, it's about creating chances, we've scored and missed a one on one and a sitter of a header in the period you say there was nothing in it, that's good from us then.

It's about passing, tackling and many other things. One man's miss is another man's save.

Passing means nowt if you don't do anything with it, how many times do you see teams passing it around the back not doing anything, loads of successful passes that means nowt, you've got to create, and we did.

They created as much as Newcastle until the final 15 mins, which is why I posted the stats.

What you're doing is grading chances, which is a different argument. Murphy took a harder chance than the one he missed, so chances are all decent chances at this level.
