Yeah, those names you are listing to improve on should be the current replacements (if we ever had a fully fit squad to choose from). We have better squad depth now and improving the actual first 11 will typically cost a lot of money now, or take time for youth development progress. Unless we really do somehow unearth some true gems.
If you want me to make a comeback then I’m happy to do so. <cheers>

Priority for the winter has to be the defence, first choice back 4 of Tino, Thiaw, Botman, Hall is great but then Trippier, Burn, Schar and Target all need replacing in the next 3/4 windows as all 30+ and while good back up currently they can’t play on forever.

A FB who can play both sides and a young prospect (u21) CB for me in winter are needed.

I thought Shaher was already considered a good u21 prospect at RB? Plus Alex Murphy on the left. Plus I think we have a couple of decent U21s at CB. I think that youth development piece will be key. Start integrating them with the first team a bit more.

if I had to put money on one of the youth coming through it would be Shahar in a few years but not right now and maybe not in time to replace Trippier.

Murphy, in my (amateur) opinion won’t make the grade but CB’s can develop later - kind of contradictory to what I'm saying about bringing in a young CB for the first team but Scalvini, Diomonde, Amchepong all 21or younger playing high level first team football. That’s the kind of quality I'm talking about.

Murphy is quality though. We just won't see him enough and he'll leave
