Seem to remember Klopp had the balls to drop Salah when he was playing ****.

This is what I meant about Slot, he doesn't have the same gravitas as Klopp, where everyone was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt he'd turn it around. Patience won't last as long as it would have done with Klopp

I said when Slot was appointed he probably wasn't a long term appointment as he didn't have the feel of a manager that could oversee transition. Granted that doubt has hit a season later than I thought.

How often have we gone through a transition like we did where he have bought and sold so many players in one go?

Diaz was first choice on the left, he had a direct fleet of foot running at players style. He’s gone and now Gapko is there he’s doesn’t have the same impact, and it’s telling

We buy a replacement right back and then we take off the first. Voice, don’t use him and remove Szbosozlai from midfield and put him right back. , but to be fair to Frimpong he did put in the cross that Gapko should have scored from and used his pace to attack the left full back, which could be more thansaid for Salah

Defence isn’t confident, and midfield is missing movement.

part of me wants to go. to 4-4-2 with Wirtz playing alongside either Isak or Ekitike in the Beardsley type role.

We had these periods under Klopp but he found ways to tweak the tactics to get back to consistently winning matches. Managers that stick with the same thing tend to end up losing their jobs.

I mean we should have won that game about 5-2 with amount of chances.

Even ignoring Gakpo hitting the post three times. Should have scored the header. Salah should have scored twice when had free shot from 5 yards and then Isak missed a 1v1…

Defence still looking shaky albeit Konate at least had half decent game.

tbf we were playing ****e before Isak came into the team, we were just getting that little bit of luck to win games.

The defence has been all over the place since day 1, so I'd agree missing out on Guehi has caused a problem (but it's not like we didn't try, Glasner pulled the plug on that one)

Not sure why Slot picked the same team that lost to Chelsea, it didn't work that day, so why was it going to work today?

We lost in injury time and it all went to pot with the substitutions Slot made, putting Grav in defence etc.

Midfield is the issue.

Just go watch every clearing header we made drop to an area devoid of lfc players.

All.up the park watching on. nobody wanting to be first to any second ball.

That's the theme.

Compress the play? Nope

Press? No half.hearted at best

Defend? Passe.

You have to earn your results and lfc are earning. Nothing like that

Well, I was right about the ref - but that's not the reason we lost. Apart from hitting the post more times than was theoretically possible, and missing three gilt-edged sitters as well (Utd missed a couple as well, tbf), that defence is just a tragedy, and that's not just Kerkez (who looks like the shirt is too much for him, tbf), but even Virgil was pants today.

None of the new arrivals, except Ekitike (and maybe Frimpong), have impressed that much, especially that 6'7" goalie who's as tied to his line as Mignolet was and gives me the eebie-geebies every time a cross comes in. But it's the old guard, or some of them, that are as much a problem, if not more. Macca, Mo (especially), and Bradley have been dire this term, and today Virgil joined them. And whilst Gakpo seemed to be involved in everything, the sitters that he, Isak, and Mo missed today would have had people wailing into the phones had Darwin fluffed them.

But hey, ho, the luck we had to win our first seven games on the trot has gone now, and, especially today, completely reversed itself. But we can't feel sorry for ourselves - we need to win at Frankfurt on Wednesday, or the slump becomes a full-grown crisis. Let's see if he's got the balls to drop Mo on Wednesday. And Macca.

These players (the establisht ones) have done it week in week out for a long time, I refuse to believe Salah, MacAllister, VVD, have downed tools.The tactics and system are at fault, the players do not understand what they are supposed to be doing and what the patterns of play are because the coaching staff are the issue.

It's not Salah why would it be? He's isolated and isn't involved in the play in the right situations.

MacAllister is world class why does her look like a Sunday league player?

Why does Gravenberch think he's now box to box instead of a DM?

Why do attacking full backs keep under lapping instead of over lapping?

Why do we keep throwing forwards at a problem instead of understanding the tactical changes and adjusting to counter them?

We certainly looked a yard slower than Utd in the first half. I've said before, and I'll say again - Kerkez is usually left on his own out there on the left, whilst Szobbo and Gravy run over like nobody's business on the right when Bradders get swamped. It's been the case since Mane left - people underestimate how Mane always got back and formed a ferocious duo with Robbo. And that goalie.... ffs, we need to give Ally another contract. Rooted to his line for every cross. Bullied to **** bt five-foot-nothings at corners. Jesus wept.

I was incredibly nervous before the game yesterday. I hadn't really thought about it, but I'd got no real faith that slot would have changed anything round, I knew it would be the same as every game this season.

We got away with alot at the start of the season, relying on players to produce moments of magic rather than being the team in control.

Does anybody actually think slot is capable of making the changes that will enable the team to function again?

Yes we hit the woodwork numerous times, yes on another day we could have won. But at no point do we look the better side. Look to be in control of the game.

Its like watching a Sunday league team, with Sunday league tactics. Seeing the subs line up, knowing he's panicking and is going to throw every forward on yet again, is soul destroying.

yeah, I agree that they had very good chances too. Remember, this was a Utd that hadn’t won 2 in a row under Amorim. We are wobbling in a major way - most PL teams will score against us right now - there is no balance all over the pitch. Also agree that Salah should be taken out for a few weeks, although who would replace him?…..while I like Chiesa playing a cameo, I’m unsure if he’s the answer.
