I think it would be in everyone’s interests to comment on Charlton in particular. Comments like **** the Labour Party are inflammatory and shouldn’t be posted on here. I make a point of not posting anything inflammatory on here. I am not a moderator but I came back on this Forum to talk about Football. I am not a moderator and it is up to @lardiman but if it continues I will not bother posting on here.

Understood.

In about half an hour I will move all posts on this emotive matter to the Current Affairs & Politics thread.
Not edit or change them, just move them. It will not take long.

This thread should be for football news,
Though I accept this subject is a cross-over one that has reached well into much wider areas than football.

EDIT:

Posts now moved.

Millwall fans are really violent, shall we ban them too ?

The truth is that this is an issue that tickles a sweet spot for many of the British Left.

You personally tend to have a habit of “not wanting” to discuss politics on here, then liberally discussing it, and then retreating when people put the counter argument.

I actually found your comment about Trump & the knesset quite distasteful, but I’ll leave this matter here as we all know where we stand on this matter, and I doubt any of us will be having our minds changed.
No, you don't know where I stand.

Can't say I'm really bothered about who else piles in now.
There is a single fundamental point, which cannot be hidden by any amount of escalation, or conciliation for that matter.

Nobody in this Country has the right to ban people from going anywhere based on their religion.
The Government had better make that crystal clear - right now.
If it does not, this could become a flashpoint more dangerous than the Asylum hotels.
Get a grip Starmer.
Time to show some leadership.

Very harsh, reasoned debate cannot be harmful.

Slight change of sublect;

I think despite the mud-slinging between Labour & Tories, this mess is really down to the CPS.

"Not enough evidence that China is a threat to the UK"?
Mr Magoo with a blindfold on could see China is a threat to the UK.
Do the CPS really need a written memo from either the past or present Government to tell them that?
Muppets.

The only reason I posted it was because you should never mix politics with sport just look at apartheid & South Africa in the 70s & 80s, and now we have a form of the same being introduced here , or an attempt to .

When football and politics collide in such an ugly manner, we are bound to discuss it.

I won’t be contributing to any other political discussions not least because my own views are well I known and I fundamentally disagree with certain others on here (which is fine), none of us will change this late in life & we are all here for CAFc.

When you get to a certain age you’ve got a way of looking a life, & values. It’s pointless trying to change other people’s. I abhor what this country is turning into …other people are fine with it, or ignore it …that’s all ok.

I have either personally witnessed or been a victim of violent crime in London 4 times since lockdown , and on every occasion the perpetrator was foreign.

When a little Mexican kid tried to steal my Rolex, he got a surprise.

At the end of the day we are all here for CAFC

I agree wholeheartedly with the second part of your last line from this message @Royston Reincarnated
But if this ban on Tel Aviv fans is not overturned, then some of my long held political views will be.

Pressure groups will press for any advantage they can get away with blagging. That's what they do.
The job of the Government and law enforcement is to ensure freedom for all the People.
Sometimes that has to mean overruling pressure groups or unjust local decisions.
If this Government is lot willing to carry out that duty, then it will have lost the right to govern.

This, as far as I'm concerned, is a crossroads in our history.
And in my mind there is only one right path.
Not the easy path. Not the path of passing the buck. The right path.
