Hopefully anaconda gets up from her fall at the last. So far ahead could’ve went over a leg at a time.
Owning a horse is a wonderful thing. So wonderful it can not be described. Losing one is devastating, to an extent that also can not be described; and the loss is felt forever
I'm sure you are right Nass. We had a grey mare which we bought as an 8yo novice pony and together with my daughter of the same age they developed to represent GB all over Europe and she became the leading 138cm pony in the UK. She even won a 6 bar challenge against 148 cm ponies where the last jump was 150cms (she could have gone under it ). In her final 2 years we just opened the stable door and she would trot up to her paddock, then later we would open the paddock and she would walk back down into her stable. Occasionally she would gallop up the drive to another paddock (she was a little monkey). Towards the end she went down a few times but with help we got her up and she would gallop up to her paddock. So strong physically and mentally, she would not let go. Eventually and inevitably she went down one last time and try as she would she could not get up and stay up so we had to have her euphonized to avoid any suffering. She died last year aged 38 bless her, leaving so many memories Our other story was tragic. Our Dancing Brave granddaughter had produced 2 beatiful foals, a colt and a filly, and we were lining her up to put her to Sinndar so the we could fulfil my lifetime dream of breeding a racehorse. One day a freak storm brought down a tree and broke her neck. Didn't see it happen but I can still see her young daughter standing alone looking lost. That was truly devastating. Broke our hearts. My lifetime dream has gone but that paled into total insignificance compared to what had happened Apologies for spouting all this out on the forum. It put a lot of things into perspective
