Not a great performance to be honest, but an absolutely brilliant result! McBurnie was outstanding at both ends of the pitch, Crooks was probably the only player who could do what he does, but he’s getting back up to speed. Great save by Pandur, but what was Ajayi doing? Was it Ings he fouled? Whoever it was, wasn’t going anywhere. Anyway, history now! Good going into the International break with a win, hopefully we can get a few players up to speed & back to fitness!
Palmer not included because his head was not in the right place. Sounds like a bust-up with the Boss.
Well done City, great win. You helped get me treble up. So, City win, I win, so come on Rovers, make it another treble of the day.
Could be. Could be anything else though like a personal issue. Anyway, not the most entertaining game but I’d take a 1-0 win over a 3-2 win in our current state. Clean sheet will hopefully do Pandur and the defence some confidence.
Yes. Came from nowhere really, Joseph out ill. Pandur out because of his head. Jakirovic didn't hold back.
Haven’t read the thread, so this might have been posted already, from the Sheffield Star -Strange quirk of today’s game: Hull City’s starting XI has more combined league appearances for Sheffield United (463) than the Sheffield United XI (335).
The talent they have in their squad for them to be bottom of the table!! We gifted them a daft penalty (meaning not earned as such). Lucky I guess that their shot hit the post ... but Panda was there if it had been a few inches in. McBurnie, Slater, Giles all had very good chances. They had plenty of possession, but can't agree that "they could have won that at a canter". By that sort of logic, we could have won 4-0 (or 4-1, 4-2 or 4-3). Anyway, very good result.
Also, the ‘foul’ for the penalty looked really soft from where I was sitting. Right decision or was it daft by Ajayi?
They lost because they set up with 5 at the back for the first half , had trouble pressing us. ,same as we had trouble fighting the wind second half - we won cos we grafted and were organised . Good subs . O have no concerns that they had possession they went nowhere with it - like we have done so many times in recent years .
Definitely penalty. Ajayi went right down the back of Ings leg, nowhere near the ball. Clumsy, and daft as all he had to do was shepherd him / stand him up especially as he wasn't even going toward goal.
