    Match Preview;
    So, just about got over the frustration/boredom of the games last night, and sat down to get this up. I think Beth summed up last night perfectly on the match day thread when she wrote;

    That draw means we've now drawn our last two, after winning three in a row...so have to bare in mind, 11 points from five games isn't a bad return at all. It'll be interesting to see how Stefan arranges the team on Saturday, as I didn't notice Frey and Kone link up that well last night. When I saw the line up, I expected a 'big man' 'little man' set up, with Kone running off Frey's knock ons...but in practice it didn't work that way at all, and lots of our attacks ended up being forced towards the touchline and corners. I'd like to see them both start up front together, so they can play off each other. I'm no football tactician, so I'm sure others will have much better insights than mine...discuss.

    As for Bristol City, they've had a promising start to the season, and sit 5th in the table. They had a disappointing September, winning one game, then losing at home to Oxford, then drawing with Preston and Ipswich. Their top scorer is Anis Mehmeti, with 4 goals, followed by Emil Riis Jakobsen and Scott Twine who both have 3. Disappointingly, Sinclair Armstrong has had one start this year, and after scoring 3 in 38 appearances last year, seems to have fallen down the pecking order. Rob Dickie also hasn't made a start this season, having played 36 games last year...is he injured? Their manager is Austrian Gerhard Struber, who joined them in June after their previous manager, Liam Manning, left them to take over at Norwich. Struber had the summer to build his squad, and signed a total of six players, including striker Emil Riis from Preston, defensive midfielder Adam Randell from Plymouth, and former R's keeper Joe Lumley from Southampton. It seems the have gelled well as a squad and look to be mounting a serious playoff challenge given the season so far.

    Enjoy if you are making the journey, and as always...

    Rob Dickie is a mainstay in the heart of our defence - he has played all games but had a little injury however was back on the pitch for the 1-1 draw in midweek with Ipswich with Big Rob Atkinson and Luke Mcnally who is injured that is some central defence.

    Hope you bring a good following tomorrow should be another cracker at Ashton Gate.

    Dare I say we have a reasonable record at Ashton Gate?!

    ''Bristol City are winless across their past four league games against QPR (D2 L2), scoring just two goals across those matches. After failing to win any of their 10 away league games against Bristol City between 2004 and 2019, QPR have since won on four of their past five visits to Ashton Gate (D1).''

    A non-impact sub, just like for us. They were trying to offload him in the summer.

    Cheers Dave. I have a feeling we might get found out today.

    Nice one Dave

    Agree with SB that we might be soundly beaten today

    Hope not

    Understand Julien's squad rotation but felt he started the wrong players midweek, let's hope he starts with the key performers today

    Shame. You have a squad nevertheless which has largely been together for a while now which should comfortably get you into the play-offs at least. Not sure about your manager however. Mind you I'm not sure about ours as well but far too early to tell!

    Here in Heraklion, Crete it's a rather pleasant 23 degrees and a gentle breeze....

    Still 2 hours ahead so 5pm kick off here..... would happily take a point now in the same way as taking the first cocktail of the day.....

    Cheers all....
