They weren't invisible, but, whatever Paddy Davitt may say, only three (18%) of our 16 shots satisfied the standard definition of a "big chance". While West Brom mustered only 6 shots, 2 (33%) were big chances. Our 3 genuine big chances were Darling (min 29, 0.32xg), Makama (min 83, 0.21xg) and Crnac (min 89, 0.43xg). Darling missed, the other two attempts were saved. West Brom's 2 big chances were Maja's goal (min 20, 0.33xg) and Heggebo's late miss (min 92, 0.45xg).
So you’re saying we should have won 3-2 <cheers><cheers>

No, I'm simply answering the question "How many big chances did we and West Brom create?". A big chance has a relatively high chance of being converted into a goal; that's not at all the same as saying it "should" have been converted. To look at it in terms of the xg of the chance, Crnac's big chance had an xg of 0.43, meaning the average striker would convert it 43% of the time, i.e. the average striker has a greater chance of not converting it than converting it. "Should have" is simply not a useful concept to employ in this context.

I understand xg Robbie, but what you have explained so well is that based on the chances created the probability is that we should won.

Welcome aboard the positivity train Robbie!

Am I missing something here. We were the home side so we should have had more chances, more shots etc etc but more importantly we should have scored more goals - we didn't score any - and we should have won - we f*****g well lost for the 5th home game on the trot!!! How long does it take to coach new players to understand that the idea is to put the ball between the wooden sticks at both ends of the ground, Didn't they learn that at their previous Clubs. We are stuck with another Ange and Amorim.

It’s not a coaching problem if the players miss the chances created is it? Yes we lost, but on another day we would have taken all the points

Latest assessment from Iwan Roberts on Radio Norfolk. ' too low tempo, no urgency, just passing and keeping possession for the sake of keeping possession, hard to watch, no effort until it is too late, never really threatens, boring ' In my simple mind that is either down to inadequate players - down to Knapper - or Coaching problems - down to Manning. Losing 5 home games on the trot is not explained by interpretation of irrelevant statistics. On Wednesday night we were the home side and teams at home should win. As with the previous 4 we lost and deserved to lose and is not explained away by ' on another day we would have taken all the points'. I am genuinely concerned about the outcome this season and can see Div 1 looming which will finish this Club for years to come. I genuinely hope that performances and results suddenly improve and we climb the table but I can only repeat what I have said before - I genuinely see no sign of it.
