Yeah all the comments put out by politicians at the moment will probably be scripted by Number 10 or Mayor/politican advisors. They might be freehand but I can't see it personally, as they all seem a standard template. I think the media and politicians are to blame, the media for a lot of their blanket tv coverage over the last two years, never seen anything like it before, whereas places like Sudan got the bog standard coverage if it was lucky. Oh and Ukraine became mostly forgotten. MP's such as Lammy always trying to push the boundaries of his brief. We certainly have emboldened this sort of thing, as you say, see London marches for examples.
For me the main driver of it all has been the blanket news coverage 24/7 the British media. People need to put their flags away, whether that be Palestinian or British and concentrate more on their own lives. Anyway what football is on tonight.
