Walter Payton was a running back ffs. Anyway, Steelers all the way for me, from day dot. We could chat all day about this in the new special thread, eh?
Originally a Cheesehead ... but not due to a lack of personal hygiene... Middle daughter did a school exchange with a girl from Philly when she was 15 - still friends 10 years on and met up in Florence this summer - so we became 'Eagles' fans after her visit as her family are well into it ...
Nearly went Green Bay myself. Pittsburgh beat Dallas in the first game i saw on C4 though, so went with them.
If they kept the cheerleaders and halftime entertainment but binned off overweight man childs in full suits-of armour pretending to be tough, then yes
Never understood American Football and probably never will, but I have a redskins t-shirt with the Indian on it, which is now impossible to buy because they changed the branding and nickname (they're the Washington Braves now).
Support the Chiefs then. Cool name(obvs), plus they are fair decent currently. Washington are now The Commanders BTW, which is a tragic name.
Not really interested in gridiron tbh. The only live sporting event I’ve attended in the US was the MLS “New York Derby” between NYCFC and the New York Red Bulls at Yankee Stadium. The standard was appalling, way below League One, despite the presence of Lampard and Pirlo (both dialling it in). Bradley Wright Phillips got a hat trick, that I remember. Don’t know what I’d do for live sport if I lived in the States. Watch some athletics in summer maybe.
