You can take losing a game but not in the way we lost this one. Not one player played well, even Alisson just needed to stay put to save the penalty. Slot's getting things so wrong atm. No discernible tactics at all. Good job this game doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

People said Slot had won the league with Klopp's team. Now we have Slot's team!

Perhaps its a case of too much this season. Last year the team pretty much picked itself, clear idea of what and how to play. Now he's too many options that its not settling into a proper team.

Frankly can't understand why Szob is still doing the RB role, when both are fit again. One game where he plays well doesn't mean he has to carry on doing it. Pick a proper RB.

Oh come on, you can't blame Alison for not saving a penalty. He saved two 1 on 1s too.

Alisson was the one player who can hold his head up high, without him would have been 3 down by HT

My comment was poorly worded. I didn't intend to lump him in with the rest of the team. It was meant to be a side note about him not standing up for the penalty. He made some good saves.

If you look at the previous results Galatasary are somewhat of a bogey team - I think Palace are too ftr but that with little fact
Last six times we have played haven’t we only won once ?

    tricky place to go
Performance was not the best but our luck has taken a dip this happens

I don’t even have us in the top four in terms of expectations but no one is really setting the place alight

    way to early for decisions

IF we click it will be good

Haven’t read through yet, but my god we look like a league cup team at times who have never played together. So many mistakes because of nerves and lack of trust.

We absolutely need Grav Mac and Szob as a 3 this weekend, I am seriously pissed off if Slot doesn’t do this

Honestly, anyone but him right now.

To quote Klopp: He looks like he’s been put on the motorway

Take him out of the limelight, he’s absolutely useless and it’s hurting the team

This is bang on, not even exaggerated. I’m a bit worried seeing us last 2 games, are these new lot head strong? **** knows. Need to absolutely get back to basics as you say and that starts with the midfield 3

100% - it’s just confusing things, we have umpteen options at RB. Get Szob in midfield

This is now a full blown first slot crisis.

He took the foot completely off the gas last season at the end and really the team does look right.

    1. Fitness doesn't look good.

    2. Day 1 preseason to today we have been walked through centrally. New signings or no new signings. Just so easy go right through us

    3. A lot of staff changes as well as player changes.

    4. He seems fixated on rotating but he's lost sight of why he has to rotate a little. (Rotate to keep players fresher for longer yes but dont do so much you lose all form)

    5. He seems to have little faith in some players still while cant see the damage others are doing and how thry need to change to get a game.

Let me put it this way. If I said last March.

Oh I've a great idea lads let's play Harvey Elliott at 10 and szoboszlai ay right full to replace trent youd all have a laugh at me.

We have the German version of Harvey at 10. Zero press really, light weight and honestly Harvey was better but so fixated on back passing he missed his chances.

    6. Now the injuries are coming.

Slot needs to stop blaming players in pressers and take the blame himself.like klopp would have doen as the media are going to very quickly start piling on this if the results and performances dont come.

Now we will see him earn his credentials.

I pretty much agree with this. Was last season just muscle memory and essentially the legacy of Jurgen or is it because we’ve change multiple key roles and the team is struggling to get used to each other. I suspect it’s the latter and this process will take some time - there is no doubt that the quality is there but we know that quality alone does not win matches.

My view is slot needs to now really with the rotation a bit and stsrt picking a consistent team.

He needs to drop wirtz. This cant go on. The guy needs to get small bursts and show he understands how to press and close.

He needs to pick a right full and stop changing.

He needs to put gravenberch back at 6 and stop using him as an 8 in games as.we are wide open great to see the goals and assists but he needs to now decide if he wants a 6 or a huge gap teams are walking through.

He needs Szoboszlai back at 10.

Just pick an 11 and do a little rotating and subbing just to tick over.

He moved Szoboszlai 4 times v palace.
He moved wirtz about as well. Did him zero favours tbh.

Last night it was crystal clear after 30mins that it wasnt working at all but it was actually worse after ht.

Theres no press. The players are falling off the press and opening are and more gaps between the lines.

Fix that first. Everybody go together and get that line up the park. Compress the space.

The biggest sin of all was watching them pick about at the back with midfielders just absent or 1 guy with 2 on them and losing it.

    So lax and so poor.

agreed. But he’s learning about his team and quickly. Remember how poor PSG were in the first two or three months? Thats exactly where we are right now and we need to start to button down everything as you say….but let’s not get too carried away…..it’s a process that is painful but we need to go through…it’s painful as fans but we need to be patient….which we s extremely hard to do as a fan tbh.

For me the full backs are the key to how the team performs. The idea of signing Kerkez and Frimpong was to emulate PSG's CL winning FBs. Both are still settling in.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like Slot trusts Frimpong at FB yet and he's not given enough reason to prove him wrong yet. The injury didnt help.

Kerkez has had a rather rapid rise to playing for a team that demands top level performances on a semi-weekly basis. That takes some getting used to.

When 1/3 of your squad leave it is bound to take some time to integrate the replacements however the problems seem widespread throughout the team and is both players seeming not fully fit or struggling to fit themselves into the team structure.
Notable the only one of the new signings to hit the ground running is Ekitike who was probably the least heralded
