Biggest difference was Palmer off for Gelhardt. Palmer did next to **** all in that first half. Gelhardt came on and immediately started showing for the ball in all sorts of positions. Slater made a big difference. Not sure what to think of Hadžiahmetović. I’m hoping he’s still getting used to the pace and intensity of English football but so far, I’m not impressed. You can tell he has quality but he just gave the ball away today and he always seems several yards away from where he should be out of possession for a holding midfielder.

What were your thoughts on signing McBurnie given your expertise on football matters?

Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside:

"It was a great reaction from the players at half-time. At the end we have to be satisfied with this point.

"We tried everything in the second half to turn this game, we needed to be better on the ball and take more risks. We made three substitutions, they lifted us and brought us a lot of energy on the pitch and also we were very dangerous in the attacking phase.

"In the first half we made too many mistakes, we were struggling all half because we lost our confidence and we didn't cover the ball well.

"They were better in challenges than us and this was something we needed to change at half-time, to bring more fight, more character to put them under pressure, especially if we scored in the first 15 minutes."

How about recalling Harvey Cartwright from Hartlepool where he's getting rave reviews?

Why do people get so fixated on this sort of thing? He's playing well below the level. TLT for instance is a league down and struggling on the bench for Donny, do we really think Cartwright is performing better just because he's doing well in non-league?

That has to be the worst 10 minutes start to a City game I've seen in many a long year. Particularly the 2nd goal is just awful defending, in addition the Gaffer got the line-up wrong in the first half IMO.

I have to say I have been disappointed with John Egan, when Jones left I thought he would be as good, but I think it goes to show Jones was a much better defender, and this is borne out by the rave reviews he is getting from Boro fans. Also, Hughes hasn't had a great start to the season, so certainly we need Ajayi to come back in and stay fit, which will hopefully improve matters.

Credit to the Gaffer for changing it at HT, the changes certainly brought more energy to proceedings. I feel Lundstrom and Amir were okay together against Southampton, as they just passed the ball side to side. But a bit similar style and pace and against teams like PNE you need more energy in midfield, and whether you like Slater or not he made a difference there when he came on.

Gelhardt should never have been left out, and made a big difference when he came on. Also, good to see Millar back, who looked sharp when he came on.

Giles and McBurnie show is turning into something special, I hope Giles injury is nothing more than a knock.

Considering the start, and we could have snatched all 3 points if their keeper hadn't saved Lummy's drive, credit to all concerned for at least getting a point, and having a positive mindset going into the Blunts game.

A shambles of a game, shambles of a formation, midfield all over the place - a well battled point but being brutally honest, to use a wonderful MOTD cliche "we've got out of jail" big style!
The midfield offers no assistance to the defence .

Small point but we have been and still are the worst throw in takers ever - the oppos mark us up - we don’t mark them up !
As for Palmer , had he played in the second half when we tackled dnd moved it quicker he’d have been ok - in the first half he ran around trying to do something but as the whole team was rubbish he looked off it.

My thoughts were that he was a good striker but that his rumoured wages given our financial position were a concern. I also said that we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket when the negotiations were taking so long and we desperately needed a striker.

What exactly is unreasonable about that?
