The easy fix is if it hits a hand regardless of intent or position it’s a free kick or penalty. Simple. If you’re good enough to twat a ball at someone’s hand from point blank range then happy days.

Agree with this - if it hits your hand it's handball - regardless of intent, proximity, etc. Sounds harsh but there is no grey area and everyone knows where they stand.

I do agree with this tbh, arms provide leverage when going in for a sliding tackle, no one is going to pin their arms to their sides when going into the tackle, the tackle would not happen properly.
Nobody’s saying otherwise but if it hits your hand then tough ****. Free kick or penalty

The problem with the current model is the ambiguity of the current rules - If Elanga kicked it off Gabriels leg and then it hit his hand its not a pen but what actually happened was Gabriel kicked it off Elanga and then it's hit a raised arm but still no pen given... there's to many questions and variables with the current set up.

Black and White - ball hits hand, handball given.

Sounds good in theory but in close contact players will deliberately flick the ball onto someone to get a penalty and others will constantly blast the ball into the area knowing there’s a good chance it will accidentally hit an arm. Would get more farcical than it is now.

Not really, you tech kids if it’s a handball it’s a penalty and when it’s imposed players will react accordingly. Too many excuses, too many grey areas and too much confusion has led to this. Let’s be honest. More penalty’s more entertainment, more crowd reaction and involvement better product overall. Simples as the meerkats used to say

More pen's = more goals, more goals = more viewings, more viewings = more tv money - what's not to love!

Even with the current rules they get it wrong anyway - Gabriels at the weekend is a pen, makes contact with Elanga last before hitting the arm, Tino vs PSG was an atrocity, there were about 3 others over the last few weeks as well across other EPL games that were/weren't given when the shouldn't/should have been!

Here’s another one whilst I’m at it. If a player feels like they’ve been hurt enough to require a physio they should be subbed off and made to go through an injury protocol for 12 days like concussion protocol. That stamps out simulation.

Next up. Vote magdad to replace masters <whistle>

the futures bright, when you look at it through a pint of cruzcampo

I hate pens, even when they are ours I can't watch :emoticon-0107-sweat

I agree with handball is handball. And if it hits a hand it should be a penalty.

It’s the same with every goal being reviewed by VAR. **** off. This clear and obvious error gap is bollocks.

How about offsides. Where do we draw the lines. Literally can be manipulated.
