Far be it from me to question anything on our play but what about this suggestion.

Yesterday for most of the second half we were under pressure and each time we cleared the ball it went to a forest player and they came at us again.
Why not have 1 player on or about the half way line, Wilson or Eliza, who are both very quick.
It would give our defenders somebody to aim for.
It would mean 2 opposition players at least to watch him reducing their attacking numbers.
Even if he stood on the centre spot it would be an outlet instead of simply booting it away from our danger areas.

I know it would reduce our number of defenders but it should also reduce the number of attackers so could even the numbers out.
We know how quick those 2 are so opposition teams would be **** scared of leaving them unmarked.

It's more or less the done thing now. Teams follow each other I'd say. Once every team had at least one man up, especially at set pieces. Now virtually no team does it. Same with long throw ins. Little more than a year ago, almost no team was using them, now most do. Same with playing five a side in your own box, once unthinkable, now most teams do it at least some of the time.

I assume they know what they are doing! Particularly at corners though, I always think it's worth having a quicker little guy, who wouldn't be much good at defending in the box anyway, up there near the halfway line occupying a couple of defenders. But, I just watch. We are extremely well coached as we saw again last night, so they will know better than me.

We were tremendous.

The desire of the squad to fight and battle for every ball is just so good to see. Xhaka is an incredible leader and footballer to boot, then you have Alderete and Mukiele who look like they've played together for years. Roefs was back to his best, did anyone see the 'thread the needle' pass he played out under pressure? Straight to a Sunderland shirt, amazing stuff. Lots to love about supporting the lads right now.

Only 4 duds I really recall for keepers

Steele
Camp
Ruiter
Davis

We've been lucky in the keeper department overall
Oh absolutely. Although Steele, Camp and ruiter relegated us from the championship!

even though we’ve had decent keepers, I am confident Roefs is the best since Pickford. And as good as he was in almost every department for us.

David Bruce in Portugal predicted that we would finish about 12th, which got smiles and a laugh from the supporters there.
Bet we would not have laughed now.
To be fair that was when we had signed the younger players and only just started on the older ones.
Anyone for top 10?
