It was a free kick in a fairly innocuous position, the way some are going on is like it was on the edge of the D …

… conceding from there is down to Forest, not the referee.
We’ve done that before from similar. Back post to Cirkin and Hume last season. Long may the ignorance of opposition continue!

I was working in the smoke at the time but remember the result.
We have seen some ups and downs since then.
One good thing I got from working in London for a couple of years was being at the game at Wembley when Jim Baxter absolutely destroyed England, he was playing for Sunderland at the time IIRC

What a gam that was, Baxter truly magnificent in defence and attack, but sadly I think it was well before he joined us .
Greaves and Paine were well mastered. <laugh>

I think there’s a bit of contact on one of the angles he actually kicks through Hume.

Ref pulled him for the theatrics and also as a result of them having already had a couple of dives that were not booked.

I personally say that’s immense credit to the ref, they didn’t dive so much after, job done by him.
Said it yesterday that as the kick was taken by zhaka nico williams dived in his own box before alderete headed the ball, again another player cheating

I watched a game in a game yesterday. Xhaka v Anderson. The level of both was so high. Pleasure to watch. They both drove their team, both organised, both battled and fought. It was such a joy to see two proper midfielders not giving an inch. Both had a nastiness against each other too, but it was done with respect.

Xhaka won the duel.

I have to say as well that Alderete is the ultimate centre half in the modern game. He is just sublime. Strong, reads it well, sniffs danger. Players bounce off him because his body is always in the right shape. And he is so calm on the ball. Oh aye, and he is south american, happy bloody days.

seems easy to say after he scores a winner but I think just about Alderete is my favourite signing. Looks an elite centre back and like you say, so calm on the ball. He has everything.

Exactly what I said to our lad. Might not have given the free kick on another day, might not have even seen it. But he did, and as you say, it was just a free kick not a penalty.

They got going eventually in the second half, but I thought it was just another case of a team "having a bad day" against us. It seems to happen a lot!

I read a man united forum yesterday there’s genuinely worried about playing us at home, imagine someone told you that after that sheff wed game under Dodds :emoticon-0102-bigsm
I’m on a WhatsApp group full of Man Utd fans and one Liverpool from my time living there. They are expecting to lose. I’m
in Zurich or I’d go and meet them. Hoping I can get into the city game via meeting them all the night before.

I'm in the same boat with that one mate. We have made some excellent singing but so far he is the best for me. Absolute wall atthe back but his passes are sublime!

He was a steal!

And that guy cost £10m. Literally, daylight robbery. We should be in the dock over some of these transfers mind.

It's as if we turn up and say, "Look, we want this lad. We'll give you this. I know you want more and he's worth more, but you're getting this." Do they take guys wearing shades and carrying Berettas in to the negotiations with them?

I might be exagerating but he looks worth 3 or 4 times that imo. He is up there with the top CBs in the league.

His club had to sell which I am sure influenced the price. But I have no idea why other clubs didnt go in for him. Like you say, absolute daylight robbery.
