Sunderland's tough run in should surely more or less rule them out of the running imo.

Not even going to put us in with a chance? Why?

we havnt got a tough run in though, this is our tough patch.

    i think it will be

    Liverpool
    Everton
    Aston Villa
    Sunderland
    Bolton
    Newcastle

but even that for the toon is a bloody good season saying as though you have just come up.

not such a tough run in, we only seem to underperform against the "lesser" clubs, e.g blackpool, wba and newcastle. newcastle won't because they do not have enough depth to their squad, we have already suffered a multitude of injuries and managed to maintain top half, plus as it gets close to the end of the season the likes of enrique, barton and tiote will only be concerned with their transfers away from "disaster central"

After our next three games we have a very easy bunch of fixtures. I reckon if we're still 5 points off of the European spots after our next three games we'll definitely get into Europe.

I dunno mate, I can seriously see a nine point swing between Sunderland and Newcastle in the next 3 games. That would leave us 8 points ahead of you with 7 games to play.

A lot of Sunderland fans seem to be just writing off the next few games because they reckon the teams they're playing in the last few games will be an easy touch. They won't be, the likes of Wolves, West Ham, Wigan, Birmingham, West Brom are the most dangerous teams in the entire league to be playing at the end of the season. They'll be fighting for their lives in a very tight relegation battle, couple that with the appalling run of form Sunderland are in and I can't see them picking up many more points.

but you are doing exactly the same, saying you will get points from the next 3 games and we wont, hence the 8 points swing, i have no idea who your next 3 games are against, but like you say, they wont be easy, you are probably just wumming but i really dont see your point lol

We are missing cattermole, he protects our defence a lot, Ok stoke was set pieces, but for me that was Gordons fault, first ball into the box he should have cleared everyone out, but you could see him, he looked terrified, well stoke seen that and just done the same bloody thing all day, and it paid off for them.

Its a weird season, West ham or beating Liverpool 2-0 atm, anything can happen, as long as we stay up i couldnt really give a toss, Europe would be nice, but it was never we have to get in Europe, but some did get a bit carried away, esp afte the 0-3 Chelsea win, but really, who can blame them, it wasnt just the 0-3 it was the way we played, we were outstanding that day, but as Andy Gray said, we wont have many days like that, and we havnt, but that was also obvious.

We both have a long way to go before we can say we are a top 8 team, other teams around us doing poorly helped us get our hopes up (prob both clubs) but now they are coming into form and are either ahead or catching up fast.
