Palace could be 4 up if it wasn't for Allison

    PGMOL have obviously decided the
    Clattenberg directive should be used
against Kings Rd FC this season.

Well deserved Liverpool milked decisions throughout that game.

Palace thoroughly deserved that and hopefully that bursts a few media bubbles....

Coming through East Croydon, I genuinely thought Palace lost due to how glum their fans looked

That or Wetherspoons Face is genuinely a thing, and it extends to Selhurst Park

<laugh> Agreed, but massively assisted by a ref who gives a dodgy freekick for simulation.

And its apparently ok to grapple and block players off in the box this week....

Is it too much to ask for consistency? (Rhetorical question) <doh>

I was a fan of Potter at Brighton, where he did a great job.
But I have little or no sympathy for a man whose judgement is so warped that he thought that he could a) manage the questionable financial business and bloated dressing room at Chelsea and b) somehow get the Spammers clown car back on the road.

Victim of his own, serious misjudgement. Not once, but twice! <doh>

IMHO Potter hit a "sweet spot" at Brighton.

    1. Specifically a squad of sufficient talent to play
in the manner he wanted and results therein.

    2. At Kings Rd FC, where :

    - supporter entitlement is far worse

    - highly paid better players are in your squad

    - pressure for on-pitch success is great
(to bring in prize/sponsor money to meet
the tightening noose of FFP regimes)

    and he crumpled.

    3. At the Spanners, he had a far lesser
collective squad ability. Therefore it would
have to be done solely on coaching +
managerial nous. Which he failed to achieve.

To try and compare to Pochettino,
I would say that Soton was his #3.
Spurs his #1, and #2 the same.
In all cases he made things much better.

I've felt the same about Poch since he left us tbh. PSG, Chelsea and the USA team all very peculiar choices given the style and approach that brought him accolades at WHL.

Sky advertising Newcastle v Arsenal as “a mouthwatering prospect”.
I think the reality is that it will be a set piece borefest.
I just might watch Europe spanking the loudmouths in the Ryder Cup. Nothing better than watching the Yanks getting stuffed - especially when they are such bad losers.
