Well to be honest, I have said this before, I hope I am being a d**k and I completely wrong. After all it is my club since 1971 and we have had some rough old years in those times, so I genuinely hope he sees my comments and messages me at the end of the season and says 'I am a know-it-all w***er' :emoticon-0102-bigsm I absolutely want to be 100% wrong.

Taking the last post by @TheRealSaints it would definitely help either 'keeper if we had a more confident, dominant defence that occassionally won some headers, I mean are the Middlesbrough coaching staff saying right now, "Pump big crosses into the box lads, all game, don't worry if they aren't that good, a couple of them will work" I mean that doesn't help any goalie no matter what their standard is.
I enjoyed the thumping header out of the box from Quarshie in the first minute of the game. He and Wood actually have some fight in them.

Agree, I think the defence will help the 'keeper and vice versa. It seems like a long time since we were settled at the back and performing well as a defensive unit.

If Still’s season is a failure and we don’t get play offs, but he finds a combination that makes us defensively solid I would take it. We have been a defensive shambles for a very long time.

Whoever the new manager would probably then come in and **** up the defence again

I 100% agree, we need to get back to being a decent football club, don't have win major trophies or challenge in the top tier of the top league, but at least give every team we play problems up front and difficulty scoring past us.

Again, it's not much to ask.

Even with a solid run of games McCarthy's negatives are not going to improve - he's awful with his feet and he tends to make a clanger. He may shake off the rust but he's never going to get better than he was.

Bazunu's peak level isn't really known - we know he's had a few crap seasons and he was once a portsmouth player (which I'm sure some elements of the fanbase subconsciously add in to the mix) but this season has seen a step up in his form. Has he suffered from crap coaching in the past and we're starting to see what we would have seen a season or so back or has he just started to click a bit better with the game?

Personally went for Baz as whilst the past influences opinion he's not done anything this season to immediately drop him in favour of McCarthy and flip side I don't think McCarthy has been so great as to force that change either.

I also don't think we'll dip into the GK market in january unless there is some change to Ramsdale's situation as I think that will be a summer discussion to have once his next seasons location is resolved.

Voted Baz

However, McCarthy would be less likely to make poor kick outs if we didn't keep ****ing passing it back to him unnecessarily when there are plenty of other ****ing options.
The one yesterday was fine. Every team in the league uses the keeper there. If he wanted to be clever the left back was in acres of space and all he had to do was hit the ball higher and harder. Or just pump it long ffs.
