Wednesday 24th September 7.45pm
League Cup 3rd Round
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

No news yet, but Dragusin, Kulusevski and Maddison are all long-term injured.
Takai and Solanke have returned to individual training but are unlikely to be available.
Not seen anything about Bissouma, one way or the other.
Neither side has any suspensions.

Lineups for each side's last league game:

Spurs:
Vicario; Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie; Palhinha, Bentancur; Kudus, Bergvall, Odobert; Richarlison.
Subs: Kinsky, Spence, Danso, Gray, Sarr, Simons, Johnson, Tel, Scarlett.

Doncaster: Lo-Tutala; Sterry, O'Riordan, McGrath, Maxwell; Bailey, Broadbent, Crew; Molyneux, Sharp, Gibson.
Subs: Lawlor, Pearson, Gotts, Close, Middleton, Ajayi, Olusanya.

Ref: Andrew Madley. VAR: Not in use in this round.

TV: Sky Sports+.

How would you like to line up for this one and how do you think we actually will line up?

Lo-Tutala was on our books for six years before joining Hull in 2022, where he's on loan from now.
Damola Ajayi is on loan from us and appears to be eligible to play.

Assuming Takai and Solanke aren’t fit, my guess would be something like

Kinsky
Spence Romero Danso Davies
Gray Sarr Bergvall
Johnson RKM Tel

On the face of it that’s a punchy forward line for this game but I’d be a little concerned about creativity. Hopefully Luca Williams Barnet gets minutes off the bench, he’s been tearing it up for the youth teams by all accounts.

Rest Romero and Micky, they’ve played a lot of games and with their injury history you need to minimise the risk.

Udogie needs minutes so id play him and have Spence on the right instead of Porro.

Xavi as the 10 with either Odobert or Tel on the left as both need to show some form asap.

Brenaldo to start on the right as Kudus needs a rest

Solanke won’t start and Kolo Muani isn’t 100% fit is he so give Richarlison the nod up top

A repeat of Coventry last season.
Go with the second XI, and ensure the bench
is strong enough should the game repeat
that first 80 odd mins.

Wholesale changes for a game where we need to make changes and give minutes to players who need them..

KInski, Spence Danso, Davies, Udogie, Gray, Bissouma, Xavi (half as a 10), Johnson, Scarlet and Tel.

Kinsky
Gray, Danso, Davies, Spence
Sarr, Bentancur
Johnson, Xavi, Tel
Richarlison - though tempted to give Dane a run out or alternatively play Johnson up top with Odobert coming in.

Edit: scrap Davies, injured as per King’s recent post.

Open to suggestions as to who the remaining five should be.

Udogie probably needs games and Spence rested for the Brighton game, so I'd play them. Bergval and Simons for creativity - get 3 up and bring on academy players. Have we really only got 3 fit centre backs or am I forgetting anyone?

Team Fortress has confirmed Antonin Kinsky will start tomorrow
Hope he has a strong, error-free game. Vicario needs to significantly up his game and being under threat seems the remaining option, as he's been with us for 3 years now and has shown little sign of ironing out his obvious weaknesses.

Mind you, I'm 67 in 3 months and still struggle with algebraic equations, 55 years later.... <laugh>
