I've seen the same situation, and with a similar 'protest' party that got votes instead of the two main rivals. Don't be fooled. They're a party bankrolled by millionaires/billionaires that if get power, will trumpet the same populist **** but ultimately be a conduit for making the wealthy backers wealthier. They will make life no better for working people and tax payers. A party set up and funded by the rich to make the rich richer.

If youre earning a normal average wage, vote for a far left party as a protest vote - because this is the party that is set up, by political default, to make your life better, not a millionaire's, who just wants to change laws to allow fox hunting or remove extra council tax on their holiday home, under the guise of kicking out brown people.

I think I've read it all now...'.Vote for a far left party...' I'm now imposing the 'no politics' rule on myself, before I say something I might regret.

Don't be afraid to voice an opinion. Never makes any sense to me why 'normal' ppl vote for parties designed to reduce tax on the wealthy. Basically voting to increase inequality and make yourself effectively poorer. There's power in a union.

Perhaps it’s because lots of “normal” people think their voice is being ignored, or are too afraid of speaking up as they don’t want to be labelled as racist or far right. Biden and the Democratic Party in the USA mainly ignored those voices and look what the world ended up with.

I understand that. But if you're being ignored, do you think a billionaire is going to listen to you? Or a party financed by billionaires? The only ppl who will listen are the same as you. Not Nigel farage. Not Boris Johnson. Not Donald Trump.

The best example is Unite spending £112 million (of members money) on a hotel and conference centre and it somehow got the go ahead by those at the top. Once finished it has been valued at £29 million!

My experience of politicians is that regardless of affiliation they’re only interested in their own agenda, and they quickly forget they are there to represent the views of the people who put them there.

By no means my cup of tea politically but the days of politicians in the Dennis Skinner mould are long gone...

You've made me break a vow....You may not like it, but the wealthy tend to be those who create jobs and prosperity for the rest of the people. It's what modern economies are all about. Right across the western world. Not fantasy island economics from some lefty nutter. Hit the job creators with high tax then they tend to piss off elsewhere and take their money with them....Like what many entrepreneurs are doing right now, under the $hit show that is Labour. It's really quite simple...You just don't get it.

You shouldn't break vows you make to yourself, B&S.

I didn't state that job creators should be hit with high tax. I stated that I wouldn't vote for a party that wants to reduce their personal tax and thereby increase their personal wealth, increasing inequality. These are two different things.

    There's a reason why economics is a BA - it's not a science.

AI will wipe out jobs left, right, and centre while the rich cream off the profits and keep us in work. This is already happening btw. Which parties are talking about it?

I've got a mate who lives in a middle-class village who is planning on voting for Reform because he's concerned about people in the rest of the country, yet he's not concerned about the fact that he can already see AI coming for his job, as he says he will just get something else... What about the millions of others who will be doing the same thing?

There's over 1600 employees at London City Hall, earning an average salary of around 60k. Over 200 earning over 85k. Totally right that tube drivers and their union push for better pay for them - not greed, equality.

Greed has overtaken the world. People have more money than is necessary and still want more. It’s disgusting.
