I don't think looking at last season carries because the sides are different every season in this highly competitive league. This season Newcastle have the second lowest XG in the division and they have only 1 win in 5, we also don't need to concede many chances to the opposition for them to score, so something probably needs changing. It is my opinion and has been for years that if the two CB's are replaced Newcastle will improve at both ends... We will have to wait and see. I criticise Howe, but I also credit him.. I did exactly the same with Steve Bruce, which is how it always should be.. If it's nothing but praise or criticism then it's an unfair position.
I've identified the cbs as the main issue and Barnes based on his personal performances needs to be dropped. It's how I see it anyway.
