    Player Ratings

Darlow - 8. Some really good saves, important catches and safe with the ball at his feet. Point knocked off for a hint of the dropsies on one occasion.

Bogle - 6. Caught wrong side of his man too often and it was far too easy to get crosses in to our box throughout from his side. Didn't really offer much going forward but it was his cross that deflected on for DCL to score.

Rodon - 7. Solid enough but didnt win enough headers in his own box to warrant a better score.

Struijk - 7. Similarly to Rodon, Lost too many aerial battles in our own box to gain a better score. Good on the ball.

Gudmundsson - 8. Very good performance and was a better final pass or two away from man of the match.

Ampadu - 8. Quietly went about controlling the midfield in the first half and defended exceptionally in the 2nd half as we submitted possession to Wolves.

Stach - 9. Man of the match. Excellent goal and an assist. Battled well and was direct at all times. Looks a very astute signing.

Longstaff - 9. A great partner for Stach and was nearly as effective going forward at times. Covered every square inch of the pitch.

Aaronson - 7. Worked very hard defensively. Could have scored if he kept his shot down. Still looks like he needs a bit more muscle. Tired badly but still never stopped running.

Okafor - 8. Great finish but more importantly always took on his full back. A very promising performance.

Calvert-Lewin - 9. Man of the match first half but had nothing to work with 2nd half. Great header, great hold up play and put a real shift in during a second half where he was starved of service. Need to keep him fit.

    Subs.

Harrison - 6. Ran around a bit, got in the way a bit. Nothing much else. Not sure what he is offering us.

Justin - 6. Didn't stem the flow of crosses coming from the right side. Won a couple of solid headers.

Tanaka - 6. Chased and harried his way through the last 10 minutes. No real impact.

    Nmecha- n/a. Injury time sub

Gruev - n/a. Injury time sub.

Farke - 7. Win will mask the fact that the subs were on too late and that we were far superior to Wolves but sat back too deep 2nd half. Every game this season we've sat back for the last quarter.

Its an instruction. I just dont think we are good at it. I dont mind sitting back and setting traps for a counter but for the last 20 minutes we were "anywhere will do" mentality. Our solid defence is largely down to keeping possession and making sure we dont overcommit. 2nd half we had no way of getting out even on the counter.

Great first half and chuffed for the scorers getting their first goals for the club. Darlow played well again but the annoying thing for me is we can allow the bottom of the league to batter us all of the second half and just allow them to cross and cross and cross to their two big men all the second half. Yes we got them on the break a couple of times but all that back passing and then launching it to see it come straight back was pants. It took away from a lot of good stuff but even though we scored three we only had half a dozen shots at goal when last season it was averaging 18. We are going to struggle if we allow clubs to dominate us. Yes defensively besides the lack of control and crap passing out from the back we did well.

Positives for me were Darlow, Gudmundson, Aaronson, Okafor, Stach, Calvert Lewin who was my MoM, the result was fantastic but that second half was pants and Farke needs to throw a few fooks out.

All three goals were quality, well done Mr F and the team

Well, well, well, who’d have thought it?

Jan back home after a few days away at a horse show so had visual and audio on quietly in the background while we caught up on life. Will watch full highlights later but the best bit has been reading the full gambit on here from kick off to final whistle in one go, what a bunch of tarts we all are <laugh>

<cheers> you often hear managers claim it wasn’t instruction when sides sit back. Suspect the truth is often half and half… they’re meant to contain but still retain the outlet to be a threat on the break. Often the players panic a bit and that second part doesn’t happen.

Given our set up is meant to be solid whilst maintaining decent ball possession, I’m not sure why we need to try and shut up shop any further anyway. I’m sure a bit of mental and physical fatigue plays its part

    I. Ould have summarized to save you the bother. Amazing ramazinni shouldn’t have been sold or Creswell. Can we have Bamford and some Nuno lad needs to be manager by Monday at the latest. Think that covers most of
    It

It adds weight to the argument that the new keeper was money unnecessarily spent (not that he has done much wrong) when you see Darlows last two performances. Proper keeper playing really well imo :emoticon-0148-yes:

Looked like it was a couple of studs on his toes. Very sore. Could be just a bit of bruising, a toenail or two lost or a broken toe.

Back in my day you'd just tape them up and your good to go.

However, I did play 6 games with a fractured leg and also I never stopped playing with a broken bone in my foot. Maybe I'm not the right barometer.

Think Darlow is well staking his claim for the number 1 slot. thought he looked very good again.
Okofor-DCL-Longy Getting better each time they play
Gabby liking him more and more.
Stach -loving him more and more not just for his goal he just looks a cnut to play against.

1st half the better team 2nd half we seemed to be content with what we
had. that could of gone against us against better teams.
all in all 3 points 3 goals away from home in the Prem is a very good days work.
The cherries next win that we in double figures from 6 games.
enjoy your weekend lads I sure will.

****ing stupid more like. Ended up in hospital for 8 days with a blood clot and blood poisoning. Apparently you can't run it off after having a cold wet sponge dabbed on it. Was a pre season friendly too.

Allow me one life story eh?

I agree with Emu, if we sit back 2nd half in the PL we'll lose more points than we gain but it was nice being able to bring on some quality n Gruev and Tanaka.
it makes a huge difference having Ampadu in the team, he's always talking to them.
I have no worries having Darlow in goal for us. We should have been using him for years.
DCL is playing like he needs to prove a point. I think Darlow's kicking was good but DCL made the CB work for every ball.
    Great weekend now.

    Fractured leg? He were lucky.

I ‘ad both legs amputated and a bandage over both eyes, and I still kept playing.

Great to see us with a bunch of big lads well fit for a battle. We’ve looked lightweight for a long time and I like this new approach
