Semedo seems to have had a rather positive impact down at Hillsborough. He has been on the end of these chuck norris themed compliments and the star have caught on.

personal favourite: Jose Semedo doesn't breathe, he holds air hostage"

Still think Wednesday are not good enough to go up. I think they'll crumble and fall away after losing their decent loan signings. After that, they've got a bunch of average league one players. Remember Chris Lines? He is in the heart of their midfield and he is a weak, weak player

I rate lines- was actually a player I thought we should have looked at over the summer.

As for semedo- his style will always mean he is a crowd favourite. Happy for him, but again, he wouldn't get in our team these days.

Some of you may remember, i wasnt a great lover of Semedo, thought he was very one dimensional - and didnt give us any creative outlook from midfield - and also a liability with bookings - its true he wouldnt get in out team today.

Megson does seem to have knocked some creativity into him though, I think he's scored twice and has been involved a lot in setting up their goals.

Andy Hughes has been doing the Semedo role recently, so Semedo may well get into this team if he were still here.

SlackBladder, I wouldn't say Megson gave him the creativity, if you remember at the tail end of last season, Semedo said Chris Powell had told him to get forward more, he scored one then had a few saved off the line if I remember correctly.

He was a fan favourite for his heart, but to be honest he (and Racon) epitomised our downfall over the past 5 years. Seems to suit Wednesdays style of play I guess though.

Well put. Him and Racon were always thought of of being too good for div 1 , but never really lit up many games. If you listen to some of CP's recent comments, it seems he thought they were one of the main reasons for the 'cancer' in the team, and decided to get shot of them to install a new 'character' in the engine room.

I agree. I have to be honest I quite liked Racon in the Championship, his style of play suited the more reserved, less physical nature of the league, but he never reached his potential and was pretty diabolical and anonymous in most games. Semedo I though performed best in our first league one season, he was okay in the Championship and had a bit of a shocker last season. I liked him for his courage and physicality though, as well as his 'love' for the covered end.

In hindsight we now realise (if we didn't before) that they were a pretty terrible midfield pairing.

A Wednesday mate of mine raves about him.

    But we've got Danny Hollands.

Rather have Hollands any day of the week. He is a good player, who is hardworking, creative, and scores far more goals than Semedo will ever do. No contest Hollands every day for me

<laugh>. To make it fair, Hollands & Stephens > semedo & lines.

    Semedo > Hughes

I believe that we would presently have a midfield of Hollands & Semedo (while Stephens is out) if Sem was still at the Club. Also if we had re-signed him then Sheff Wed wouldn't have him to give their fans hope of L1 success.

Who would you all rather see- Pritchard or semedo? Or is it a silly question where the answer should be obvious to me?

Isn't the question, who is the better player Semedo or Russell? After all, Russell is in the team rather than Pritchard at present.
