I don't think there is any other derby that can be compared to Merseyside Derby anywhere in the world, You see both supporters sitting anywhere in the Stadium, Certainly not Manchester Derby, or North London Derby. The only closest to it is South West Derby Liverpool v Manchester United, however this one is full of hatred among both supporters, Liverpool currently is the only team in the premier league with one hundred percent record, and Everton would be very happy to end it. Liverpool also wants the bragging rights, Game: Liverpool v Everton Date, Saturday 20/09/2025 Time: 12:30 Stadium: Anfield TV. TNT Sports. Referee has been appointed for this game. His name is going to ring a bell in the ears of Liverpool supporters, only associated with negative decisions, His name is Darren England please log in to view this image please log in to view this image England will be assisted by Lee Betts and Scott Ledger, with Bobby Madley as fourth official. John Brooks will be in charge of VAR duties, supported by Akil Howson. Brooks himself has frustrated Liverpool in the past, missing two blatant fouls on Mo Salah against Chelsea in last season’s league clash, England has taken charge of 11 Everton fixtures, with the Blues losing just once under his watch. By contrast, when the same official has overseen us in the Premier League, the Reds have managed just one win in five matches. That sole victory came in February when we defeated Bournemouth 2-0 away. Other results include a 3-0 defeat to Brighton, draws against Crystal Palace, Southampton and a 1-1 draw against Palace on the final day of last season. The appointment means a familiar name from past controversies will be in the middle once again, most notably remembered by supporters for his part in the VAR debacle at Tottenham when Luis Diaz had a legitimate goal disallowed. Liverpool facing officials with history against them.
Back to 80s football. Darren england as ref? License to be a kicking match for Everton Tarkowoski will be let away with absolute murder but the second grealish flops it will ne a free.
We can do that but what if we end up with 3 broken legs as well due to thst awful ref.? Im sure mr moyes will do what gollum always does at anfield. 10 men back and hope for a break while fouling and time wasting. Mr.england will indulge and enable it all game. There wont be a single cpunt on pickford falling on the ball. Tarkowski will be let off with murder. Salah will have his shirt ripped off every time.a ball goes out towards him. Grealish will.flop over after 2 mins and frimpong will be booked for nothing. They will target kerkez and Ekitike and wirtz and try and get a reaction.
Sometimes refs need reminding that part of their responsibility is to protect players from injury and not just punish those who cause them. They should warn players who are clearly fired up before they do something rash. You do see it sometimes, but not often enough.
True. If they are fair. The point being some refs decide they they belong in the 80s when thry get to this gsme. Id genuinely rather that Taylor than have England here. And they says a lot. People can make the game 100mph but with a kick at the player at the 3nd rather than any interest in the ball or passing or ball retention. That's easy. Anyone can do it. If we look at the newcastle game we all saw the score minute 1 almost. They were let away with a deliberate high boot and the thing spiralled form there until var forced the ref to reverse a bad yellow for a really late rake of the leg. The second we saw they assigned Simon "loves spurs" hooper we all saw it coming. England is as bad if not worse. When someone gets seriously injured then refs are questioned but they are not questioned half enough imo.
I would say we need an early 2 goals as 1 won’t alter their plan but given our penchant for losing two goal leads this season we need a quick fire treble So nailed on 0-0 lmao
Just nail tarkowski early. Get him off the park like they will try to do with us. Thry will hoof long set piece at him.v konate hoping to get a other nudge or block somewhere. They have started really well but the red mist will descend.and it'll be yard dogs and diving.
One early goal will be fine, they'll have to come out eventually. If not, we'll control it'll throughout. Obviously, is love an early four or five goals though
Just get out if it without an injury. There's few yard dog games left. This is the second one this season after newcastle. There's unlikely to be as much kicks fr9m.newcastle at anfield but the hill of kicks stadium will be a problem. This one is another risk of a bad injury and you really dont need games like that. No other clubs has a list of clubs who are allowed absolutely kick lumps out of players like this. Pgmol have a lot to answer for
CHRIS SUTTON' S PREDICTION. COMFORTABLE HOME WIN. What information do we collect from this quiz? Anfield, 12:30 BST Everton have started the season well. Jack Grealish has given them that creative spark on the ball and Beto is a tireless runner up front. On top of that, you know David Moyes will make them hard to break down, too. Liverpool left it late again against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and I do wonder how much that game will have taken out of them. Still, they have plenty of options in their squad and, while they have not been at their best, they keep on finding a way to win. That's what I think will happen again here. Sutton's prediction: 2-0 James Skelly's prediction: It's always best to play Everton when they are a bit confident. When they are struggling, they batten down the hatches and go all 'Dogs of War'. When they fancy themselves, I feel like we will do them. I don't see 'Moysey' going toe-to-toe with us, because he's not stupid is he? But I still fancy us. 3-1 Katherine Parlour's prediction: I'm a Blue, what can I say? Also, after watching Everton Ladies win at Anfield last week, I'm full of hope. A bit of magic from Grealish will decide it, and a consistent, tight, defence will see us through. 1-2 James Walsh's prediction: Everton won't make it easy, but the quality of this Liverpool team will shine through. The key man is Virgil van Dijk. When he's on form and marshalling the defence, it breeds calmness throughout the team. 2-1 AI's prediction: 2-1 JONES KNOWS BEST HAS GONE FOR HOME WIN TOO. 2:00 Liverpool vs Everton, Saturday 12.30pm David Moyes is one of the best pound-for-pound managers in English football. Of that there is no doubt. But his away record against the big boys - notably Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City - it's dreadful. And this weekend, that's the big red elephant in the room for Everton. Since taking the West Ham job, Moyes has managed a team 19 times away at those three big clubs and has been beaten 18 times. There's lots of talk about renewed hope, a more attack-minded game plan and potentially a charge towards the European places, but it's really difficult to see how Moyes' approach at Anfield is going to lead to any points being banked. Everton will give it their all on derby day, of course, and will be tough to break down, but Liverpool to win and under 3.5 goals at 11/8 with Sky Bet is a fantastic price to attack. Scary. No chiesa Biggest risk here is bradley and kerkez red cards. Niether have the sense to keep oit of it. Stand up and barge someone and no yellow. Slide in from miles and it'll be red
Makes sense to drop Wirtz for the hard working Dom in the middle of the park. We can still use him off the bench if needed. Bench looks good btw.
Agreed. If I were Slot, I would be taking those two aside for a few words. Things can get out of hand very quickly in the derby
