I'm not sure I understand the need to select six bowlers for a match that will be played over a maximum of three days (and probably much less given the forecast). Given how weak our batting has been this season, I'd have preferred an extra batter to help deal with the inevitable collapse we'll suffer.
Forecast suggests we'll get play most of tomorrow and a full day on Thursday. I guess we might lose the morning session depending on how wet the outfield is after overnight rain.
Great, just what we need, Gubbins going off with some sort of side or back tweak sustained whilst bowling. Just pray he's fit for the weekend, although the forecast is looking dodgy both Sat and Sun now.
The forecast has worsened and now suggests we'll get the morning session and that will be it for the day which is fine with me. Get that last bowling point and completely eliminates the chances of us losing the game.
I hope we look to score. If we can get 3 batting points it would make up for missing out on a bowling point.
It's a shame, his bowling seems to have regressed again from what he was doing for the last couple of seasons. Back to the usual scenario of bang it in short and watch it sail away for six or be short and wide outside off stump and get carted away for four.
It's not the first time I've been baffled by Brown's decisions. We really should have started with spin at one end. He won't be replaced as captain but he really should be. Not been impressed with him at all.
