A lot of people said on here before the match that Pompey were a more settled team and could give our new team problems. Nobody really disagreed with that but when it turns out as predicted, people are calling for the manager's head. Maybe after match emotions but not really sensible.
We were absolutely awful last season, we are not going to be promotion candidates one game after the transfer window. I didn't enjoy that at all but I expect better when Still knows how he is going to shape the players he has now got. I'm still pretty hopeful to be honest.

Interesting. It was definitely saints fans I was hearing (I should hope i could tell the difference!)

Maybe it was just a well positioned microphone

Nope. Trust me, our fans were terrible. Again.

F*cking shouted at the ****s around me. “F*cking sing or f*ck off.”

Obviously I'm the prick in this situation. What a crap fan base we have.

Really not great overall. To not be able to create one decent chance against your rivals at home is very alarming. Nerves and occasion are understandable but you have 90 minutes to get over that and our players looked nervy the entire game other than some flashes in the second half.

I believe you. Honestly, the atmosphere at SMS is so depdenant on where you're sat. The stadium acoustics are terrible. Made worse since moving the away fans away from our vocal supports.

I know we all wanted a win but I think most of us need to lower our expectations a tad.

Any team needs time to integrate new players into a new system with a new manager. We have just been relegated with the second worst points total in Premier League History.

We were on a downward trajectory and I feel like we are basically at a neutral trajectory now so over the next few weeks should start to improve and move up the league.

Pompey on the other hand are still on an upward trajectory of getting promoted and staying in the division. They have the same manager, know the system, have probably not had the turnover of players we have had(no idea as don't follow them at all).

Our players are clearly better but the above means in likely hood a draw was the most likely outcome.

People calling for Stills head need to give their head a wobble, absolutely ridiculous statement! Have we not had enough of chopping and changing a manager over the last few seasons? Fair enough if we have lost every game ala Selles with Sheff Utd but we have only lost 1 game as have Pompey.

We will come good, too much quality not to really, let's see where we are come January when we next take them on!

Go on then. Apart from not losing, name me one single positive of that game.

Fellows did **** all.
Azaz was distinctly average.
Rads or whatever his name is, can't pass to save his life.

I can't recall as single save either of their keepers had to make. Still's tactics seem to be smashing the ball high in the air for our resident giant Archer to "win"

We had one shot on target, at home, in 95 minutes against the skates, yet people are falling over themselves to make excuses. ****ing embarrassing

Fair result but if we lost one nil , I would not have complained.

When it comes to May , a home draw against Portsmouth will not seem bad. They are a much better organised team. We will struggle to finish above them. Will probably have silenced those thinking automatic promotion is nailed on. Mid table at best.

Out played and out sung by Portsmouth for most of the game.

What has happened to Downes. Just woeful today, as another post said, Jander, has to play next game

Seems very much a role player, the role Martin wanted him to play he excelled in. Has looked poor since Martin left.

He barely got a look in at West Ham before we signed him. Ok they are a PL side, but they were a bottom half one when he was there, and to barely play shows he wasn’t rated there

Ok, bro. Don’t have an aneurysm!

The Northam was alright, I still lament the positioning of the away fans, it’s had a massive effect. But as usual it’s the game that affects this the most, the crowd were ready for it, unfortunately there were 11 players on the pitch desperate to nip that positivity in the bud and I’m not talking about the players in blue.

Can’t call for stills head after this. First time playing back four, 3 new players in starting lineup.

Disagree though, we ought to be favourites for promotion.

Azaz looked good second half, Jander looked up for it. Scienza will get kicked to bits in the championship.
