It's not just you, I assume when we are young we have plenty of room in the brain for memory, and we are continually learning, but as we get old everything slows down, like a computer the memory becomes full, and how you recall that memory, like cookies and cache. I know kids before the age of five generally don't remember much because whatever part of the brain it is is not fully developed. Like time going fast for older people, it;s not going any faster, it's just we are slowing down, so we take longer to do things, hence it gives the perception of time going fast. Probably quite a few Youtube videos on all this stuff.

Anyway following on from this, I think it's important in latter years to keep learning, otherwise the brain becomes stagnant, you rely otherwise on instant recall, as the saying goes, use it or lose it - but use it in challenging ways, not stuff you already know. It probably makes no difference in reality, because I've watched a few videos on dementia and parkinsons, from past knowledge they do actually know how to cure it, certainly the latter anyway. Parkinsons but the treatment is very short lived and not viable (cell replacement of some sort), I've mentioned previously the development of looking for a cure all came from Dolly the Sheep (Professor Ian Wilmut), because the guy that created that himself caught Parkinsons, and it was one of his students I think at the time (Dr. Tilo Kunath.), that went on to look into research of disease.

First time i saw it on an 18" square black and white TV which my dad had to keep standing up and batting on the side because the valves came loose with the vibration of the speaker.

I remember those, we had one, the equivalent of a 54 inch plasma flat TV screen now, we also had a Radiogram, a huge side board with a valve radio and a record player, state of the art then
