Cracking read that. I was surprised with the comment of realising £100m in player sales in recent years!
And so it should.....it's become the stuff of legend! It'll pass into folklore....." were you there during the Summer transfer window of '25?"

Cirkin has the advantage of being both hg and club trained to spurs. We defo need to get wise to that sort of thing. An article on RR surmised a core squad of 22 players who are gonna see the pitch this season. Of that 22 only 5 are hg and 3 club trained. Ghisolfi desperately needs to start giving his air miles to his missus and start getting to know the domestic market in the next 2-3 windows.
I'm sure we are wise to the situation. If our hg and club trained aren't up to the PL at the minute, given that we may have got into the PL a year or so before expectation,we've recruited accordingly. FG's missus won't figure much in our thinking.....whoever she is.
Hope so, but we’ve got a big squad with not many available slots in the medium term and almost no high quality hg youth prospects coming through. So future windows are going to be a case of paying big money to get hg squad contributors in or buying fodder to make up numbers. Personally I’d suggest that makes it worth paying the likes of Neil and Cirkin a more palatable option.
I'm sorry mate....you'll have to forgive me....but, I don't understand a word of that. In our big squad, correct, as you mention, we have a number of good players ready to play the available slots,as you call it. So,why would need to buy "fodder" to make up numbers. And,is it right we have no high quality hg youth prospects?
It’s not all that hard to understand is it? A PL squad needs 8 hg players. Euro squads need a further proportion to be club trained. Our squad doesn’t have many hg players who you would point at and be confident they’ll be with us in a year. I reckon maybe 3 outfield players are ready to contribute in the medium term. We really need 6. So in time we will either need to grow our own (not many prospects at the club currently imo), buy in ready-made players, or ship in fodder to make the numbers. Project forward our current squad and the crunch is pretty obvious - and will need the club to pivot. Hopefully they are well prepared.
I think it might be the use of the word " fodder",which unbalances me a bit. Ok,take your point, let's see.
I'm sure the club will have it in hand and use a mix of strategies. Could we do a couple of deals similar to Ekwah, Cirkin and Alese? Youth players from rivals could see us as a better chance to get on the pitch in the PL.
I'm sure they will. As I see it,we still have half a dozen or so still to move on....difficult with the transfer windows having different time frames.
We definitely need to. Having lost Jobe and Watson - and seemingly rejected Patto, Neil and Cirkin - we’re left without enough obvious hg squad members to be genuine contributors in the medium term. It should definitely be a focus in January to try to refill the pipeline. We’ll also need to maintain the opportunities for game time to make us more attractive than sitting on an elite club bench. Problems for next season and beyond, but problems nevertheless.
Would be a total waste of time for the lad. Nowhere near the level of Udogie, who’s also younger, and probably not as good as Spence either.
