Either. If you are concerned about people on boats, what personal experience have you had to make you concerned? How have they impacted you? Where do your fears originate?

Genuine question for you. Does one need to have had a personal experience to be able to form an opinion based on the countless rapes and assaults by illegals staying in this country. Areas across Europe that are no go zones for woman as they don't feel safe. I could go on. What are your views on this ?

You just used used the word ‘countless’ to describe something eminently countable. I am not aware of many rapes at all carried out by people awaiting their assessment for asylum. Do you mean general foreign immigrants? So my issue is you seem to be conflating headlines with facts.

Illegal immigration im specifically talking about now. Hundreds of unvetted men walking the streets. We know nothing of the background of these people. They have entered the country illegally. Can you not understand why people are concerned and are protesting at the hotels ?

For clarity, and this is a hard fact, if you ask for asylum on arrival you have not entered the country illegally. Secondly, you just said they are committing countless rapes. Where is the evidence for this?

By all means, get angry at facts, but you are just angry at nonsense.

Yes it is! But things come to a head somewhere down the line. I am not disagreeing with you about the minutae of illegal migration as a problem in comparison to legal migration of the past 30 years. We agree on this, but it is the politicians that used the illegal migration aspect to distract from the legal migration long before Farage started going on about it!

You can't separate the end of something from what caused it. This is the problem with the politicians and their commentariat defenders. They try and separate everything from the causes of "where we are now" and in many cases intentionally do so. They blame the boogeyman for what he does now and ignore what they and their ilk have done and are doing that caused the boogeyman to gain more and more traction!

Like the "hooray" for the democrat's 5 min monologue yesterday against Farage. There were 2 actually but they are not trying to reach any audience other than their own followers. They don't care, they just grandstand for their own popularity with their own base. And it works! Backpats all round,. Those here love it.......but only the ones that already are on message. It doesn't do anything to convert people or convince people.

The second fellow banged on questioning Farage if he was having dinner with the President....He didn't care about asking questions about the subject matter that Farage was there to talk about! He was more interested in scoring cheap points to his followers.

This is the problem with this whole mess. The left, or I would say not just the left, more the supposedly centrist cabal, are only interested in getting their backs patted by those that agree with them. They convert no-one to their side. They seem oblivious to the fact that they cannot beat the "other side" without converting people! And so they leave things wide open to shysters to convert people! Their argument is not an argument. They will not discuss issues, they close them down and name call if anyone asks them about these things. They are more interested in throwing mud than actually listening to normal folks and they definitely are not interested in believing them. If they do believe them they are not interested in supporting them because that would go against their narrative!

The things they say they support ARE the very things they end up destroying.............because they don't actually care no matter how much they say they do. They just want to make themselves rich and famous, create their legacies and dynasties and are willing to use your money to pay to get as high up that greasy pole as they can. And you still support them?

They need to start (and quickly) taking truths and not spin or lies to support the spin rather than mudslinging............they should have worked out by now that "Orange Man Bad" and "racist Frogface" wins no converts! Facts that belie lived experiences backed up with disingenous evidence and repeated by all the vested interests does not convert. People believe their own experiences.

Even yesterday Starmer is on the despatch box announcing the massive amount of jobs created since they took over? Great stuff. Nothing to do with the continued recovery of old jobs since Covid! He didn't mention that unemployed numbers have risen faster than employed over this same period! It is this sort of stuff that people need governments to talk truthfully about! People will ask "where are all these new jobs being advertised? Who is getting these jobs? because a lot of people are scrambling around trying to find work and not seeing much about!

They will ask "if you've created all these jobs.........why have the PAYE numbers gone down? (payrolled employees)

At the same time Badenoch lied in the house saying unemployment has risen every month under Labour, when it has risen in 5 and dropped in 4.

Anyway, Orange Man is on the way to making himself a dictator- and deleting his name from the Epstein files - so I kinda think he is bad.

I think he is bad as well but we're so far down this road of the "normies" faux outrage at dissent and policy making designed to steal your money that people are not interested in "so called" normal politicians and their defenders name calling and throwing mud.

Net? Net is when you claim net. I am interested on truth.

And if you want to protect women, you have to hate Trump. He has normalised sexual violence for too long.

My numbers were from BBC Fact Check, by the way.

What happened to your love of "net" to protect arguments? Where are these numbers from? LFS? Labour Force Survey?

I'm having to take your word on the 4 and 5 but this graph doesn't look like 4 moves up since the middle of 2024 to me! Looks to me like 2 moves down at best there. We're really struggling though when we are talking about this as being a lie to the house after years of actual big lies in that house over that time!

BBC fact check lol. My chart is from the HoC library from ONS.

Looking into the actual figures on that ONS report seems to indicate that the "fact check" you saw is correct however we are talking some very small decreases amongst very large rises

Unemployment has risen 192,000 since Labour came to office with 4 months of decrease of approx 2k, 8k, 7k and 1k for those 3 months..........with unemployment standing at 1.672m end of June this year.

So this "lie" is that when unemployment is 192,000 higher than it was 12 months before the latest figures, 4 months with increases totaling 18,000 is being used as a defence?

Maybe the difference in the number of illegal immigrants and normal population has alot to do with that ? It's a very complicated problem. Why do you think they go through multiple safe countries to get here?

It was per person. The numbers should be vastly higher. It should be at least 5 times the rate of criminality just to pair up with the UK yobs who go around stealing Amazon parcels.

Several decades of widening wealth inequality are behind the anger and frustration that’s threatening to consume the country. The solution is simple enough; tax the rich, repair public services, invest in affordable housing. All policies which the current government is committed to, and for which they are daily castigated and ridiculed on both ‘legacy’ and social media.

It’s so much easier to just blame everything on foreigners, a simplistic approach which has been gaining momentum steadily since Brexit, and which has now reached runaway pace.

I might argue with Imp a lot, but I do respect his opinion. As he rightly pointed out, this was not since Brexit. It has been ever since the market crashed. Which really just proves your point.

True, this is an international phenomenon, certainly not confined to the U.K.

What Brexit has done is empowered the xenophobes and boosted that disgraceful spiv Farage. It’s the steaming turd on the rubbish heap of Britain.
