He's still about mate. I think he got paid at the weekend, so was probably off his head and back to painting Monday.
I remembered him coming on and saying he was getting paid - that was Thursday afternoon on the Burley Thread, so I thought then we probably will not see much of him then.
Unhinged... like a sulky teenager finding out that his mates have had a kick-about without him https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1dxd9eyy71o
I think this all causes us a problem as well, because we are seen as the US closest ally. If things go tits up, who is going to be one of the first countries that Putin would target, us! I've always been concerned about us getting dragged into the Ukraine war and it don't look like we are closer to a solution anytime soon. Thankfully I would like to think Xi will keep Putin in check, something we and Europe have failed to do with Trump. So yes, there is a funny side to it, but also a very serious one, because I'm still unclear where this Ukraine fight is going, but I'm sure all our young men will happily step forward for the cause of this utter madness and display of arms right now.
Wow, just heard the Americans shot up and sank a boat, killing all onboard, as they were allegedly smuggling drugs from Venezuela. So I just looked it up and found this article from yesterday on it... https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/02/trump-venezuela-boat-lethal-strike Could you imagine the stink if the Brits did something like this, ****ing hell, where's @Sucky.
Good to see the courts standing up to Trump When his enemy is one of the most respected and revered university in the world, it tells you everything you need to know about his motives.
^^^ Now this is the type of thing that makes me proud to be British, our ability to use comedy to subvert a divisive message and send it up for jokes.

At the time border chiefs said he had been part of a 'shameless gang' which 'plotted to bring desperate people into the UK illegally purely for their own financial gain'. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...gs-ailed-plot-smuggle-illegal-immigrants.html
Not sure where i stand on this. Trumps probably the worst leader in the world and the way trump has gone around removing the funding because of ideology is definitely wrong. On the other hand grants and funding from central government being decided by the courts isnt something i would agree with. If its an iron clad contract sure thing for when it was guaranteed sure thing. On going though, the government should be able to withdraw whatever funding they like
I'm not sure it's something the courts would ordinarily get involved in, because most of the time, grant funding is done in a measured way and the benefits/cost analysis is laid out for everybody to scrutinise and decide whether funding is appropriate. I just think in this case, they've felt compelled to step in, because it's clearly an ideological attack and an example of a president abusing his powers.
It's vandalism. The person that drew the original cross and the person who coloured it in are both vandals. Might be the same person but still a vandal. Talking of which... please log in to view this image
