Saw a report last night saying what we've spent this window is a record spend in one window for PL clubs. Don't know if that's true
That'll be in Euros £14.3m for the loan An extra £56.2m to buy. £70.5m total. But they only have to buy if he makes a set number of appearances (we've done the same with Elliott). So they'd better hope Kane doesn't get injured.
I know prem spent a lot, but does seem that a lot was spent in house in prem to prem transfers compared to normal. Which sort of distorts that figure. Be interesting to see a net spend of prem to prem compared to prem to outside and compare that to other years. Isak Cunha Mbuembo Wissa elanga ramsay Kerkez Madueke Eze Outtaro Pedro delap Garnacho Dibling ait-nouri ans those are just the big name ones off top of my head. We’re plenty others as well.
Having Isak doesn't excite me. I really wouldn't have been fussed if we didn't land him. He's a great player no doubt, but I was more excited seeing how Ekitike would develop and this move surely impacts that.
Given spurs were 1 player (65mil) behind us i do think theres a bit of a fuss about this and accusations of buying the league etc. We have gone for it, no question but you'd.swesr city, chelsea, arsenal, spurs or utd have never done so. I fully expect a free transfer Cb next summer and maybe one cm.
They do seem quite keen on him. But I can't imagine him displacing Diaz, Kane or Olise, so you would think he will be at best a squad player unless, as you say, they get some injuries.
I have doubts that they’ll sign him permanently. Bayern have the money so if wanted him could have brought him. Think it wa because they were going for the guy that went to Newcastle but didn’t want to spend that much that ended up just going for a short term option - however if he smashes it which may do in Germany then option is there to buy. Jackson gets a lot of stick but his record isn’t awful just like Nunez misses a few chances but he’s still relatively young at 24 and when compared to players like Ekitike sesko he’s more experienced and scored more goals.
So our suspicions about managers handing in resignations if Guehi was allowed to leave Palace are confirmed today. We will see what happens in January, I think he will still want to come to Liverpool. I have to say, I admire his dignity, the club have treated him badly. As for Isak, I said on here a long time ago that he was an outstanding player and I would love to have him at Liverpool. I got my wish but not at all impressed y how he went about forcing his way out of Newcastle. He will be great for us
Look palace need to look after palace. It's that simple. The player didn't make a fuss so was taken for granted by parish and glasner and thry didn't work to properly replace. Palace are 100% losing both next summer for nothing and best of luck to them thereafter.
It's odd that no rival fans congratulated us on actually winning the league after spending £10m on one player (who hardly played) but are all over this about "buying the league". We didn't "buy" the title we actually won and have barely got going on this season's to be throwing that around.
I said yesterday that there was a last minute phone call to Guehi from Glasner as he was waiting to be taken to Liverpool following his medical. What I'd heard was that Glasner was threatening to resign if Guehi left but I didn't add that part because it seemed too outlandish and I thought I'd wait and see what happened without putting something out there that might not be accurate. Turned out to be spot on.
We’ve had a hell of a lot of change, it’s not like Chelsea just adding 8 players to the squad and everyone is quick to forget we spent 10m in the last 2 windows…
In the end glasner got his way but has to deliver. They are a firmly mid table club that will struggle to do more than that over the full season. They are a nice.club with old school support that's not much harm to anyone. I hope they go for in the conference league but I dont think they will win it. Someone with more tactical.abikity will catch them in the knockouts. Most of all though I really hope guehi sees joe gomez with at least two fat medals come may.
I thought that too until a small group booed Diogo and André's minute of silence at Wembley. Every fanbase, including ours, has its idiots but they all still manage a 100% silence.
