Wharton is quality. I hope he doesn’t end up at Chelsea though, he’d develop better elsewhere

Maybe his dad’s Friday night ‘promise’ was connected to his continued contribution to the mackemsIt's funny how life pans out.Ive been told this by someone that genuinely knows the family.Riggs Dad is a Mag through and through. But he decided that what was best for his Son was to go to Sunderland despite offers from Newcastle and Boro,as a little lad because he knew that Sunderland was his Sons best option to make it. Despite Chris being a Newcastle fan he's Dad kept on telling him that Sunderland was he's best option because he believed Sunderland being in Leauge one and championship his Son would get more game time rather than just sat somewhere in the Newcastle set up especially with the "takeover". His Dads persistence and foresight means he now stands in a photograph as his son signs a premier league contract at Sunderland. Congratulations to them.... especially his Mam.... who's a Lads fan.
He could have went anywhere mind. As he could have done last year.
Going to the top this lad.
I seriously think this is the type of Player Rigg turns into, very technical and can pass through the lines, not overly quick like Rigg as wellWharton is quality. I hope he doesn’t end up at Chelsea though, he’d develop better elsewhere

Wharton, Rice, Bellingham as a three for me. Not the thread for it though I know.Wharton I feel would be class at the base of the England midfield.
They need to get the balance right.
Would have me doubting our decision makers tbhI hope not...
Well you never know I suppose, and I'm not great a judge.I've seen some Sunderland fans saying he's not ...
... presumably based on not yet having seen him play in the PL.

Really seems straight forward doesn’t itWharton, Rice, Bellingham as a three for me. Not the thread for it though I know.
Good post mate. I grew up in Consett in the late 50's and early 60's,and there were any amount who went to Roker one week and St James the other. It seemed like it was supporting North East football which was important, and the same people who had pride in seeing good football from one had the same pride in seeing the same from the other.Of course there was always rivalry when they played each other, but, growing up,I don't remember the sectarianism that seems to exist today. It's funny how life pans out.Ive been told this by someone that genuinely knows the family.Riggs Dad is a Mag through and through. It’s been a poor window for Villa. Even worse if they lose Tielemans…

I went to Newcastle loads in the early sixties when the lads were playing away, never felt any affinity to them it was just a thing loads used to do.Good post mate. I hope you're right mate.....so far,I haven't seen it.He could have went anywhere mind. As he could have done last year.

With how good our summer business has been, you can't blame people for getting carried away at times. Some wanted Akanji here … no chance
